Hello my loving Asean Hive community,

Greetings to all my friends. I haven't made Diy bookmarks in a long time these days. A friend of mine also asked me to share how to bookmark it. So today I made two easy and cute bookmarks. Normally I use color paper and water color to create bookmarks, but today I made two bookmarks without using them.

About a month ago I received a gift of some coffee powder from my aunt. I used some of those coffees to bookmark today. Let me first describe the materials and steps required to create one of these two bookmarks.

Method 1:

Materials-

photo1651305357.jpeg

  • coffee
  • Cardboard
  • paint brush
  • yarn
  • pencil and ruler.

Step-1

photo1651307142.jpeg

Coffee is the main reason for using this watercolor paper as coffee will be the main ingredient in this bookmarking. Or you can use cardboard. I used pencil drawing paper. On that paper I drew a rectangle 5 inches x 1.5 inches. Then I cut it with scissors as I drew it.

Step-2

photo1651307563.jpeg

On that paper, I painted my coffee with a paint brush. I painted some areas lightly and some areas thicker. Then I let the coffee on the paper dry. If the cardboard you use is thin, the edges may curl.

photo1651319575.jpeg

On the opposite side of the paper, I painted coffee.

Step-3

photo1651319776.jpeg

photo1651319795.jpeg

Then I used a pen to draw a leaf on the coffee-colored paper. Until I finished painting the coffee, I was still thinking about what to draw on it. In one corner of my garden I noticed some fishbone leaves. So I came up with the idea of painting that fishbone leaf on paper. I only used black color for drawing. The more beautiful your drawing, the more beautiful your bookmark will be.

Step-4

photo1651320246.jpeg

This step is the last step of the bookmark. At the top of the paper, I made a hole using iron. Then I put yarn in that hole and made a knot. The paper is coffee colored, so I used white yarn. Even if you do not do this step, your bookmark will still be beautiful.

Now I have a cute little bookmark. Instead of a leaf on paper, you can draw your favorite animal, flower, food you like. Now I'm going to show you another bookmark method that can be done using coffee and cardboard. Let me tell you the materials first.

Method 2:

Materials-

photo1651321824.jpeg

  • coffee
  • Cardboard
  • yarn
  • small bowl
  • pencil and ruler.

Step-1

photo1651322133.jpeg

photo1651322133_1_.jpeg

For this bookmark I also used pencil drawing paper. I also want this bookmark to be the same size as the bookmark I created in method-1. On this piece of cardboard, I drew a rectangle 5 inches x 1.5 inches and cut it with scissors.

Step-2

photo1651322537.jpeg

photo1651322537_1_.jpeg

I transfer my coffee to a small plate. Then I dipped the bottom of the small bowl into the coffee. Then I put the bottom of the small bowl on the paper I cut. You can see it's going to be a little circle. When I was a kid, I used to go to the tea shop with my dad, I saw like these circles on the table. I made a lot of circles that way.

photo1651322537_2_.jpeg

In some circles, there is a lot of coffee, so some coffee falls down. I think it's more beautiful.

Step-3

photo1651323606.jpeg

photo1651323606_2_.jpeg

I also painted the corners of the paper with a little coffee. Then I made a hole in the paper and decorated it with yarn. This time I used brown color for the yarn. Below are pictures of the two bookmarks.

photo1651324396_4_.jpeg

photo1651324396_3_.jpeg

photo1651324396_2_.jpeg

Of the two methods of making these two bookmarks with coffee, which one do you prefer? I think method-1 is more beautiful and method-2 is easier to do. That's all for today. See you in the next post. Bye Bye.🍇

Usually a coffee stain is never a good thing, but somehow you've turned a simple coffee stain into a functional work of art, I love it.

When coffee spills on clothes, they are very annoying. Thank you very much for your kind words. I'm thinking of trying another DIY using these coffees. In that case, I will share again. Thank you, sir.
