Memories, photos and my childhood (TBT)

In these two days of the new year 2025, I have begun to remember and reflect on my entire life and on the people who have been around me, among family and friends, and although in these photographs I mostly appear as a baby, therefore I do not have memories of those moments, such as the fact of being aware of my paternal grandfather, who had passed away when I was 2 years old, but even so, these photographs and more the anecdotes of my relatives, I know who my grandfather was and in part I have those memories through these photographs.

I saw all these photos with a certain nostalgia and I wondered about some relatives who left the country, as well as remembering my paternal grandmother Marcela, who died almost a year ago at 107 years old, of whom I was always very proud to have been able to share a lot with my grandmother, as a very noble and loving person with her entire family, she lived her whole life in its maximum splendor and we will all remember her for those good moments that we lived with her. Other family members appear in these photos, such as my cousin Nabila, who grew up with me since I was little and we are practically like siblings. I am like the brother she never had and she is like the brother I never had, but we were always together until we grew up and of course each of us took our own paths. She already has a beautiful family living in another country, and sometimes I talk to her, although it is not the same as being there in person.

That is the beautiful thing about these photographs, they bring back memories of those moments that you lived with great happiness, just like once when I was in school I was part of a play where my mother was present when she was already pregnant with my only brother. These are the small fragments of my memory that come to me when I see the photograph with my mother and perhaps they are not repeated but they certainly bring back the gratification of having lived through that circumstance.

Although I must say that nowadays I don't usually take pictures or I don't even like having my picture taken, so there have been many moments where I haven't been photographed, maybe I should change that because time goes by and I haven't left those traces of those happy circumstances that I have shared especially with my wife, friends and family.

It's amazing how the years go by so quickly, I feel like it's only been a few days since I graduated from high school, then since I graduated from college or even since I started my first jobs. In all this time I have met and shared with many people, most of whom have gone to other countries, in some cases I keep in touch with some of them or others I haven't heard anything about, but even so I have them in my memory. Therefore these photographs, beyond the nostalgia I feel for my childhood, I also feel that happiness of each one of those beautiful moments that I have lived in my life and of course I still have a lot to live and continue to remember.
