Martial arts Saturday [Photography] (ENG/ESP)
As part of the inaugural day of the Japan cultural week in the city of Valencia, Carabobo state - Venezuela, I had the opportunity to attend and take some portraits of the event, but specifically for this publication, I focus on an exhibition of the martial art Karate. A discipline that I don't know but at the same time I have been related to it by my wife @carminasalazarte, who in her childhood practiced it and of course it is still part of her life.
There are 5 photographs, of the different movements of this martial art, which of course is widely practiced in Venezuela, to such a sample we see how many children and adults of different ages practice it, being an activity that forges respect and discipline for each of these individuals. Beyond thinking that Karate is more related to blows and kicks.
For this occasion was the first time I do a series of photographs of this subject, where it is about capturing the essence and movement in the image, because although photography is a static image, there is also a foundation of dynamics and movements, characteristics that are usually in sports and discipline such as Karate. Although previously wi have portrayed sporting events such as basketball, soccer and baseball, where perhaps in some cases the movements and actions of the targets are faster.
For these types of photography, where movement is very characteristic, it is a priority to work with the shutter speed of the camera, so that at faster speeds, the movement within the frame is more static, if this is the desired result for the composition. Otherwise you can also play with the motion blur as part of these compositions.
All photographs are my own and were taken with a Canon T3i camera.

Como parte del día inaugural de la semana cultural de Japón en la ciudad de Valencia, estado Carabobo - Venezuela, tuve la oportunidad de asistir y poder sacar algunos retratos del evento, pero en específico para esta publicación, me enfoque en una exhibición del arte marcial Karate. Una disciplina que desconozco pero a la vez he tenido relación por mi esposa @carminasalazarte, quien en su infancia lo practico y por supuesto lo sigue apareciendo como parte de su vida.
Son 5 fotografías, de los diferentes movimientos de esta arte marcial, que desde luego es muy practicado en Venezuela, a tal muestra vemos como muchos niños y adultos de diferentes edades la practican, siendo una actividad que forja el respeto y la disciplina para cada uno de estos individuos. Más allá de pensar que el Karate, este más relacionados con golpes y patadas.
Para esta ocasión fue la primera vez que hago un seriado de fotografías de este tema, donde se trata de captar la esencia y el movimiento en la imagen, porque a pesar de que la fotografía es una imagen estática, también existe fundamentos de dinámica y movimientos, características que suelen estar en los deportes y disciplina como el Karate. Aunque anteriormente wi he retratado eventos deportivos como el baloncesto, fútbol y béisbol, donde quizás en algunos casos los movimientos y acciones de los objetivos son más rápido.
Para estos tipo de fotografía, donde el movimiento es muy característico, es prioridad trabajar con la velocidad de obturación de la cámara, de tal manera que a velocidades más rápido, el movimiento dentro del encuadre sea más estático, de ser así el resultado deseado para la composición. De lo contrario también se puede jugar con el celaje de los movimientos como parte de esas composiciones.
