Hey friends, how are you, I'm here with you again with the desire to show you an incredible plan, where the entrance is totally free and it is worth going to know a little of this place, the history that brings behind and learn about Spanish aviation.
This is the Air and Space Museum, which is located very close to Cuatro Vientos, an airport in Madrid.
In this place we can find the history of aviation in general, the history and progress of Spanish aviation, research, titles won by Spanish aviators, and certainly what most interested me and called my attention, planes that participated in the first world war and the civil war in Spain, remember that after the civil war Spain was practically out of the second world war, as it had no economic or military resources.
To get to this site is very easy by bus, or in your own vehicle, here with just put the address the Google maps tells us how to get there, in our case we went by metro line L12 to Alcorcón central, where we then took a bus 512 to the stop that is right in front of the museum. Important to warn the driver, as this stop is not frequent and previously I had wanted to go, and not warning the bus passed me by until Móstoles, that day I canceled my trip to the museum, but today I could do with my friends @jesusaleizarra, with whom I am knowing small corners of Madrid and there are more plans for the future, over there we have views a ruins of an ancient settlement, an urban castle and an interactive science museum.
In addition to this not to bore you, I will divide the post in 2, because there are 7 hangars in the visit, there are simulators, the possibility of entering an old plane used in the second world war. That's why from my 500 or more photos, I chose the best and a little bit attractive ones.
Comenzamos por acá. / Let's start here.
When we get off the bus we will go to the interior through a bridge, underneath passes the commuter train and around it is a cycling route, here we ask the security guard as we noticed that we entered a restricted area, and of course besides the museum, is the air base of four winds and the school of command, control and telecommunications techniques.
At the entrance they simply check your ID to make sure you are of age, they give you a catalog with the hangars and there is a brief explanation of what is in each one, we can take a map, brochures and give a donation if we want. Upon entering we can see very old specimens, and following the tour as it should be done we can go through different points, there are guides at some points and in each hangar there is a guided tour and explained if required.
So we started the tour to the letter, and began by the monuments, tributes to aviators and some small helicopters, indicating where they were made and how they ended up here.
Nos encontramos a Dusty Fumigavion / We met Dusty Fumigavion
Well from here begins the history, we talk a little about the first airplane or first airplane invented, the first prototypes both American and Spanish, and not only that, if not what was the first flying machine in a given case, which was the hot air balloon, there also enter the airships and besides that the machine of Da Vinci, who was not the one who made the first attempt to fly.
There are also pilots credentials, medals, implements, guns, cameras, the truth is that in this hangar there is an incredible collection of history.
I think this is where I took the most pictures.

In addition to the principles of aviation, there is a section where there is an interactive model, which explains a little about the function of the tower of four winds, about the planes that made a little history in the country and how they worked, as they made some flights in them. In the same way there is a room that resembles a war bunker, here we also find airplanes and replicas that were at war, just at this moment we reached the guide with the group that was ahead of us, this same guide in another room explained the flights that the Spanish pilots had made trying to break records, one of those flights made a stop in Venezuela, others arrived to Argentina-Chile.
The route of the great voyages, it is an interesting story to know, I invite you to look it up on the internet because the feat was not at all easy. Besides the original plane of the expedition was donated to Argentina, the so-called “Plus Ultra”, here we were talking about those other trips.

In hangar 2 there is a collection of engines, officer's aviation suits, simulators, aircraft cockpits, fighter planes, replicas, machine guns mounted on fighter planes, missiles, some ballistics and some nuclear warheads and bombs used in the Spanish Civil War. Everything absolutely everything is a unique piece of history, especially the advance that Spain had in nuclear technology in the last decade.

Hangar 3 was my favorite without a doubt, a collection of fighters from the first world war up to the existing fighters, they also explained to us a little about the operation at that time of the machine gun synchronized with the blades at the time of shooting, which I had already seen in History, it was an innovative system at the time, although I sincerely wanted to see a little more of the second and in my mind I thought they might have donated or damaged in combat copies, unfortunately it was not, but it was the most interesting room for me.
Here I will pause the post, because I feel it is very long, where is the hangar 4-5-6 and 7, plus the interactive part of being able to ride in an airplane and see it inside.
See you in the next post.

that museo was really nice, you can really gain more knowledge on that if what happen during that war before. Really nice place.
Thank you very much, it is worth visiting museums of this style, I recommend it.
that place is more than just a place. its beauty cannot be described in words. I bet I could spend a whole week there without getting bored because I'd be admiring everything, 24/7
I have a singular taste for aviation ever since I learned about the Wright Brothers' history. If there is something historical involved, that will fascinate me. Very detailed tour and how great that you enjoyed it.
The truth is that it was amazing, unfortunately I could not get on the big and old airplanes like the Boeing. But it was super cool
You shared some very beautiful pictures, what a wonderful trip. Have a nice day my brother.
Thank you very much 😌
You're welcome, keep up the good work 💪
Look at some really nice pictures my friend
Thank you bro
That was cool!
Thanks
What an adventure! This museum seems like a treasure trove for anyone passionate about aviation or history. Exploring the rich legacy of Spanish aviation, alongside the fascinating display of planes from WWI and the Spanish Civil War, sounds like a truly educational experience.
It is super entertaining for those who like this kind of history, I particularly love everything related to the first, second world war and especially the Spanish war, here there are still ruins and battlefields, bunkers, I hope to explore them soon.
The planes are well-maintained. They even looked functional. It's a great museum. I only saw those planes in the movies. I am happy for you. Thanks for sharing !BBH !LOLZ

Hey it happened to me too, I had only seen this kind of airplanes in movies, but seeing them like this in front of me was a unique experience. Especially the first German fighters.
Thanks

wow, it's always interesting to learn about what aviation looked like in different eras, and what efforts people made to conquer the sky. It's especially impressive that here you can see planes that took part in the First World War and the Spanish Civil War. And the fact that admission is free makes this museum even more attractive 😍

Impresionante.
