First tour in Spain - First European weekend.
Hey what's up friends?
I arrived in Spain on a Saturday morning, and the truth is that I was lucky that it was a weekend and that my friends had time to take me to some incredible places here.
For example we did a mini tour of El Retiro Park, Cibeles (where R. Madrid celebrates its cups), Puerta de Alcalá and ended at the Santiago Bernabé stadium. It was all a super quick mini tour, which I will do later with more time and I will dedicate a day to each site because the truth is that we only knew the first and striking to take some pictures.
Well, Saturday afternoon I went with my friend to Mercadona, a super market super well known here that has literally everything, here we did the 15 day market for my friend, and I bought some things while I was settling in.
The truth is that here I found a variety of products that I had not seen before, curious some mini pickled corn, pickled gherkins, 10 types of milk, something new to me.
When we arrived from the Mercadona we went to the gym (honestly I was too sleepy but my plan was to sleep all night because of course having different schedules I was going to wake up at dawn here or not be able to sleep as such), I think it was a good decision because I was so tired that when I arrived I fell asleep. But not only I went to the gym I also went with him to work as a delivery man on a motorcycle to see how the traffic was here and the streets, the traffic signs everything.
Now we went to the center of Madrid, because we live in theory to more outskirts, although many consider Leganés a village, the truth is that it is a mini city, has advanced a lot these years and is the closest southern area of the center.
Here we met up with other classmates from the university at Sol station, in the Plaza Mayor. I was just arriving on a day when they were celebrating Hispanidad, and there were singers from here, a series of festivals, floats and fireworks on one of those days.
The famous Gran Via and its iconic Schweppes building, where you have to take a picture if you want to.
From here I was a tourist completely because they took me to Cibeles and the Puerta de Alcalá and the truth is that I have no idea how we got there, I know we took the subway a super short way.
Of course for me it is another world and I looked around everything, the color of the trees by the autumn, the sports cars parked as if nothing on the streets, too much diversity, Latinos, Europeans, Asians, Arabs, you find all kinds of people on the street.
The infrastructure, everything looks like something out of a movie, but something I thoroughly enjoyed.
Now being in the retiro park we wanted to go to the crystal palace, but it was already closed and they were doing renovations. However it was a spectacle to see the park, which is gigantic but we did not walk it completely, we just went to the most touristic points, it is amazing to see the color of the trees, a very nice reddish of the leaves.
When we left we went to the Santiago Bernabeu and although we did not enter I was amazed with the infrastructure, the truth is very cool, and I liked it a lot, it is also under renovation because of the World Cup that will be in Spain and Morocco.
We ended our day at 100 montaditos where we had a beer and then at burger King, and then everyone went home because we live in very different places and far away from each other.
But they gave me an incredible tour and of course I must repeat and enter the Cibeles palace, the royal palace, take the Real Madrid tour and walk around the park. But that will be a task for another day.
See you next time.
