So how do you actually make your own silver coin/round?

I wrote a blog a few days ago (Here) where I happened to mention a few of the amazing things that the @ssg-community has achieved since we banded together all those years ago. Now I may be a little bias with this opinion, but by far one of the best things our merry band of precious metals stackers has done is the inception and creation of what was the #steemsilverround.

So what I thought id bring to you in todays blog, is the start of a very short series of blogs that detail how, as a community we went about it from initial idea to delivering the goods....

IT BEGINS WITH AN IDEA!!

Quite simply, the idea for our very own silver round was made as a passing comment or even a joke in a comment section(first official wordings) which its location now evades me. I cant even remember who it was!! But as the crypto-bear-market continues weve lost a few O.G. members along the way and i dont want to atteibute it to someone no longer here, by mistake, so ill just say i cant remember exactly who it was....

That was it! The ball was rolling and as a solid community of ass-kickers and bad MO-FOs that we are we got the job done. Jobs were assigned, committees were appointed and our little community project began to gather momentum.

AFTER THE IDEA COMES THE DESIGN

More often than not, the round design itself begins with a hand drawn sketch. Now i can only speak for the process of the 2018 #steemsilverround , but im sure @bearone began her 2017 design in a very similar way.

Being the first "true" community, the opportunity to be the lucky design winner was not only open to all of the platform, but it was the members of the platform (steemit) that were left to choose the final and winning design.

THE BRIEF- Simply design a coin fit for the #silvergoldstackers community! That was it... Carte blanche and free reign to design anything you thought the community would want to see on a 1oz silver round

For my 2018 "Masterpiece" entitled; Communi-tree I painstakingly drew and photo copied, then cut out and stuck, before photocopying again all the small details that would finally find their way on to the finished design.

Now that the basic concept idea and design had been laid out for all to see, the next stage of the process was to gain approval from the community and fingers crossed, hopefully make its way to the final judging stages. But ill save that for the next blog.
