A stunning walk through a beautiful countryside: my first Wednesday walk.

Hello and welcome, to what is my first attempt at a #wednesdaywalk blog, where i share with you guys and gals the beauty on my doorstep. Well not technically doorstep, but workstep.... is that even a thing?? Workstep! Well whatever, im going with it.

The times they are definitely a changing (Bob Dylan), the nights are drawing in, theres a freshness to the morning air, and the leaves are beginning to change.

My job allows me to occasionally take an extended lunch breach, and i used this time to get out and enjoy a fantastic autumnal day, here in a surprising dry Wales.

I may live in a country that doesnt suffer from Volcanic eruptions, hurricanes, typhoos, earthquakes or any other natural disaster, but boy does it rain..... It rains constantly! On a positive note, it does makes are grass green and countryside flurish.

We also have a lot of history. Mostly due to the abundance of "black gold" (coal) located near the surface, and todays walk takes me along an old coal train track supplying cardiff docks with coal from the Valleys. The mines have long closed and so the lines have been tarmacadamed over and turned in to a cylce/walk path.

Possibly an old signal box/supply depot??

Nature has had some 60yrs to reclaim what was hers originally, and paths disappear to woodlands and to nearby rivers and waterfalls.

Over all, it took me just over an hour to cover some 3.1miles/5km, and it notnonly refreshed my mind ready to head backnto work, but its definitely good for the soul.
