Moving on with memories of last years WRC in Croatia with a short video
Dreams are the seeds of change. Nothing ever grows without a seed, and nothing ever changes without a dream. - Debby Boone
There are always ups and downs, always everything happening for a reason and in harmony. There is no gains without any losses.
Wishing you are having a nice, peaceful, healthy Easter weekend with full bellies with some lovely new memories my friend!
I've been on and off, better and weaker, like they say, there's always time for sunshine after a storm. Here I am still working, going forward and trying to create great memories.
Decided to write about almost a year ago, when I went to go and watch WRC in Croatia that is just near the border, close to where I live.
While remembering about how it felt, driving there, having a plan to get there, where to park, go watch and know a bit of stages, it was a lot easier and less stressful for me.
It was still a ton of new feelings, sensations and well still having a feel for whole new life after open heart surgery. Ever since I came out of hospital I feel blessed and truly grateful that everything is going like planned. While having an amazing cardiologist that is keeping a close eye on my heart and while finding new things, I'm trying for work on my well being, maintaining good condition, strength and having focus on my goals.
One of them was going to WRC last year, it's one of the things I ain't forget, while slowly planning for new season that is on the date from 18th till 21th of April so in about 2 weeks of time left.
Now going back in time, it was Saturday and a quite hot sunny day where I didn't know what to expect from my body, my heart and condition. It was the first race I went too after, well I was fortunate enough to get another chance to live.
My ribs were still hurting, I was a lot weaker, but able to drive and gave my everything just to be able to hear, feel and watch those launch controls at the stage of SS18. As I feel every single beat and got on the spot to watch I felt my heartrate going up to around 90 a minute staying there for the whole run till they went on till new place.
The race is fully on tarmac, but the tiny roads threw village's in Croatia also mean that drivers use a lot of the road to use in their advantage, to be able to carry as much speed in corner as possible.
Then I went to my old location I found accidentally years ago, where I went to eat my sandwich with an amazing view and racecar sounds down there somewhere in the valley. Amazing, even watching rally cars going to get gas on the castle, even getting a chance to se up front some of the drivers and co drivers. Even the young, but crazy behind the wheel Mr. Kalle Rovanpera and his Toyota Yaris or well, what is left of it.
Decided to create a short clip of my experience, it's mostly about the sound, feel of a car passing me and all the extra sounds cars make that ticks all the boxes of a petrol head like me. There is also an extra spice added with the fact that these cars are made to drive on public road to get to all the stages. I'm definitely not professional at making video's I did focus on being in the present moment and this was about my 5th try making a video to share with you. Enjoy!
It was getting hot, when I got down I watched the first line up where WRC cars go first, then after the hottest group also having the most horse power, the rest followed.
I did start to feel weaker and tired after about 2 or 3 hrs, but I listened to my body, had a lot of water with me and slowly but surely returned back home all safe.
It's been an amazing feeling, mostly the hottest WRC cars launching from the start of the stage and blasting with their anti-lag threw those tiny and tricky part of the road.
Returned home to rest some more with a smile on my face as well as in my heart. since then almost a year ago I've been fortunate enough to got more strength as much in my body now that is fully healed as in my mental strength that was even harder for me, but never giving up.
Planning to go on 20th of April again on where I will tell more about someday. Grateful to have a cardiologist to check on my heart again two days before hand. I have no doubt that my passion and ambition for racing cars and smell of the rubber in the air helped me a ton to my recovery where I am today.
Thank you for taking time to read, I wish you a good day or a good night and a good life.

I wish you all the best. Unfortunately, life isn't perfect for all of us, some of us have to go through tough challenges. But those challenges make us stronger, and I believe we learn to appreciate life a little more because of them. Stay strong 💪
For sure and the only way to go is forward. Thank you for the inspiration and shared strength, it does only get better one step at a time.
Stay Hivemazing, rawr!
jooj, I just love your positivity, you are an amazing person. I think with a good attitude toward our problems it is easier to overcome those bad moments. Stay strong and don't forget, you have support here ;)
Positivity can beat any negativity, having support, help and people to talk to, while investing in myself towards my goals, but yeah those moments are the ones that can be painful, but do make us all stronger.
Grateful for your motivation and honesty.. Thank you!
I have to admit, it's amusing how we both enjoy adrenaline, even though it's not recommended given our situations. I'm relieved you're not giving up. Without adrenaline, I don't feel like myself. It's the only thing that helps clear my mind, and when I'm biking down a trail, all I can think about is making it through safely 😂 We're definitely warriors💪
Whaat, I'll be honest I did drive my bike about 5 times this year, but I'm still a tidy bit afraid of injuries, almost like taking baby steps all over again
One step a day at a time 💪
I can't wait for the mountain biking trails to reopen. This year's challenge? Conquering the Pohorje trails. I haven't done it yet, so this year, I have to ☺️You need to fall to get back up again. We learn from our mistakes. After my first fall on Peca, I had to learn how to ride those curves without falling. I've fallen so many times I've lost count, but what's important to me is learning and not making the same mistake again 😂 Of course I'm scared because my body is fragile, but better to fall then being home not even trying 🤔
You go girl! Did you know there's a museum under Peca where you can drive with your bike threw ?
Life is always in the teaching and testing for the future full of surprises.
Not sure why you find sentences that touch me, yeah last year was mostly getting stuck at home for me or like the time, life, world stopped for me, peaking threw from time to time, till just recently.
Oh, you're talking about bike trails underground? No, I haven't tried them yet. But I did go to Peca, where they have made it possible to go with kayak. It was really amazing. I understand it's tough for you, and it's nice to meet someone who gets what we're going through. Last year was tough for me too, but we have to keep moving forward. I know it's difficult, but we don't have any other choice. I think we're too young to give up 💪
Yeah I've heard about it, but never went up there, nor down under
Never tried before, but I am slowly starting to enjoy and get confidence back on the bike. We got to keep moving forward, one step at a time. Life does sometimes give quite a few lemons, but I do like a god, cold lemonade with some Radenska.
Thank you for sharing and helping me know there's more warrior's & shield maidens in the world!
