Monday's Child

Monday's child is fair of face.
Tuesday's child is full of grace.

This little poem came to mind while Jeff and I were traveling to Walmart from the gas station. He wondered what day of the week I was born. June eleventh the year I was born fell on a Monday.

Monday’s child is fair of face
Tuesday’s child is full of grace
Wednesday’s child is full of woe
Thursday’s child has far to go
Friday’s child is loving and giving
Saturday’s child works hard for his living
And the child that is born on the Sabbath day
Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.

Today was eventful. After logging on to my work computer (in my bedroom), the power shut down in the house just as Jeff headed to take a shower. Fortunately, we have a gas-powered generator. Jeff started the generator and then asked me to follow him outside so that he could instruct me how to shut off the generator when the power was restored.

I worked without incident until the power was restored. My son came home from work and during my fifteen-minute break, he switched the source to house power from the generator power without incident.

I got a happy email from my supervisor yesterday thanking me for my contribution to the team as a mentor. I was off for that weird, but awful, nausea yesterday so this email made my day today.

Temperatures climbed again to over eighty degrees. It's unseasonably warm, but I'll take as much warm weather as I can get.

Next week temperatures are projected to drop. The temperatures don't bother me as much as the gloom that we've experienced lately. Sometimes, you have to pull your sunshine from within.

I should have been born on a Saturday, but I am also a Monday baby.

It was very sweet of your supervisor to send you that e-mail.

One day I want us to have a generator that we can switch to when the power goes out. We have one but can not hook it into the entire house.
