5.12.2023 A May Friday in Pennsylvania

Happy Friday to my Hive/Alive friends in the States. Happy Saturday to those of you who are across the pond. I hope you all are getting an opportunity to relax!

I worked, as is customary, from 7:45 EST to 4:30 and was held over by a complex call. I dealt with my personal billing issue this week and then today was needed to contact a durable medical supplier to assist a member with resolving his problem with getting his sleep apnea supplies shipped to him after many, many months. The call involved many customer service calls to get to the root problem. The wife assisted her husband who has no patience. All three of us remained on the phone for at least an hour as I was directed from one phone number to another.

The root cause was an outstanding balance of close to $450 for prior shipments which the member never received the bill for. Why? Because his billing address was changed and never updated. I left a satisfied member to contact the payment department to release his order. I love a resolved issue.

After work, I put sneakers on and took to the road. My initial desire was that I wanted to walk to the nearby lake. Unfortunately, access to the lake changed a year ago when the amusement park ownership changed hands to a developer who dismantled the historic amusement park we all loved and restricted access to the lake. By the time I got to the mouth of the new access route, I was already tired. With a heavy heart, I walked back home. I'm so out of shape and need to step up my activity level. A sit-down job is a deadly thing. Winter restricts my activity because my circulation is poor and I won't go outside.

Jeff made a tasty chicken dish with fresh vegetables and pasta with a white wine sauce. My gallbladder reacted to the chicken breaded and fried in olive oil.

We are watching The Fifth Element with Bruce Wills as we relax. The weather is warm, but not too humid (yet).

I'm thinking ahead already to next weekend when we will be visiting my oldest sibling in Virginia and celebrating the recent nuptials of her daughter in Hawaii. They did a private wedding on the island a month ago. I look forward to seeing her. I last saw her last summer for a nice dinner while she was in town. We are hoping that Jeff will have the Piper Cherokee ready to fly. The flight will only be an hour and a half to the airport nearby my sister. If it's not ready we will need to drive the six hours after I get off of work Friday, or leave early Saturday. Neither option is nearly as appealing.

Photos were captured using my Samung Galaxy Note S22 Ultra Plus smartphone. The Tulips were planted by some trees in a Perkins parkinglot. They were too lovely not to capture.

Love the tulips! I don't try to grow them here, because the deer will eat them.

It's always great to catch up with family, especially on a special occasion like a wedding. Flying in a Piper Cherokee sounds like a fun adventure, but if you're not prepared, I hope the trip isn't too long and tiring. In any case, I'm sure it will be worth it to spend time with your sister and celebrate her daughter's wedding. Safe travels.

I hope Jeff gets his plane up and running, driving that far is a pain.
