Social Media Challenge || Dalthin Ironhood
Hi, everyone. Welcome to my post. In the Social Media Challenge, I will discuss anything about SPLINTERLANDS, it can be about cards, abilities, rulesets, battle reviews, End of Season results, or my playing experience.
In this post, I will share my experience using Dalthin Ironhood which already has IMMUNITY ability.
Dalthin Ironhood
Dalthin Ironhood is an EPIC rebellion card. He is a Ranged unit from FIRE ELEMENT, and on this occasion, I was lucky enough to try his abilities.
Dalthin Ironhood is equipped with the WEAPONS TRAINING ability since the first level. WEAPONS TRAINING is an ability that can be used to grant attack power to nearby No-attack units. Since it is a Ranged unit, Dalthin Ironhood will grant Ranged Attack power to them.
At the third level, Dalthin Ironhood gets a new ability (IMMUNITY). IMMUNITY is an ability that can protect the owner from various kinds of debuffs, both targeting debuffs and AoE debuffs. The reason I am using Dalthin Ironhood this time is because it has the IMMUNITY ability that can ward off debuffs that will be given by one of the rulesets in the battle below.
His last ability in the form of REDEMPTION can only be obtained when he reaches his maximum level (level 6). REDEMPTION is an ability that can only be activated when the owner is defeated (by units from the opposing party or certain conditions). When this ability is active (when Dalthin Ironhood is defeated) all units from the opposing party will receive 1 point of damage equivalent to the damage received when attacked by Melee or ranged units. So as long as a unit has ARMOR when REDEMPTION occurs, it will only lose 1 ARMOR. And if it has the SHIELD ability, REDEMPTION will not deal any damage to it at all.
I can only rent Dalthin Ironhood in the battle below at level 3. Because the number of cards for rent is still limited and the rental price for cards with higher levels is also very expensive.
Battle
The ruleset for this battle is TARGET PRACTICE (all monsters in the arena receive an additional SNIPE ability), HEAVY METAL (Only units that have ARMOR can be used in this ruleset), and NOXIOUS FUMES (All units is affected by the poison effect since before the battle starts)
In the first round, Venari Heatsmith, Iidri Fyre, and Dalthin Ironhood damaged Grum Flameblade's entire ARMOR. Uraeus attacked Iidri Fyre. Grum Flameblade and Forgotten One attacked each other. But when it was Grum Flameblade's turn to attack, my Forgotten One countered his attack using the RETALIATE ability.
At the start of the second round, all units that do not have the IMMUNITY ability must lose 2 Health points due to the toxic effects of the Ruleset's NOXIOUS FUMES. The Grum Flameblade loses because it has no more than 2 Health points.
Venari Heatsmith, Iidri Fyre, and Dalthin Ironhood damaged the ARMOR of the opponent's Forgotten One who is now in first place replacing Grum Flameblade. Uraeus is still attacking iidri Fyre. My opponent's Forgotten One attacked mine. Then my Forgotten One countered his attack using the RETALIATE ability. The opponent also countered again using the RETALIATE ability so that my Forgotten One lost.
Even at the start of the third round, the toxic effects of the NOXIOUS FUMES ruleset continued. Although Venari Heatsmith, Iidri Fyre, and Uraeus were affected, they still survived.
Uraeus attacked Iidri Fyre. The opponent's Forgotten One was defeated by attacks from Iidri Fyre and Dalthin Ironhood.
In the final round, Uraeus and Venari Heatsmith lost to the poison effect of the NOXIOUS FUMES ruleset, leaving only Iidri Fyre and Dalthin Ironhood.
Battle Review
The battle is quite short because the number of units is not too large due to the limited Mana provided. Apart from the limited amount of Mana, one of the rulesets in this battle also limits which units are allowed to be used. The ruleset is HEAVY METAL which only allows units that have ARMOR to be used. Coupled with NOXIOUS FUMES that can deal 2 HP of damage through poison as long as the poison has not been cleared or a unit has the IMMUNITY ability. With these 2 Rulesets, players are required to make decisions to choose units with high Health (to survive the effects of poison if they cannot heal themselves) and have ARMOR.
The only elements available are FIRE and DEATH. I had thought of using the DEATH element because there was HARKLAW that met the criteria mentioned earlier. But since more units meet the requirements (Forgotten One and Dalthin Ironhood), I decided to use the FIRE element.
Luckily my decision this time was right. The opponent is also using Forgotten One which is known for its high Attack Power and RETALIATE ability which is quite painful for melee units that attack it. Although my Forgotten One lost ARMOR due to the attack from Grum Flameblade, the Forgotten One on the opposing side also lost its ARMOR due to the attack from my 3 Ranged units.
Those are the kinds of things I discussed in this Social Media Challenge. Thank you for reading to the end and see you in other discussions in next week's Social Media Challenge.
