BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge! || Little League
LITTLE LEAGUE
"Only Monsters & Summoners that cost 4 Mana or less may be used in battles"
This ruleset limits us in choosing monsters and Summoners. The restriction is that the monsters (and Summoners) used must have a Mana of no more than 4 (0~4). Although limited to monsters with Mana no more than 4, there are still some monsters that can be useful, including:
MARTYR which is the ability of Fungus Flinger and Venari Marksrat is very useful to give an additional 1 point in all (Attack, Speed, health, Armor (if you have)) STATS of nearby monsters when they are defeated. You can place these monsters in the first position (when you are sure that the opponent's monsters focus more on the first position) or in the back or last position (if you are sure that the opponent will use monsters with abilities such as SNEAK, OPPORTUNITY, SNIPE, or Rulesets that utilize these abilities).
SNEAK is one of the abilities that is often found on Mana 4 and below. In the Chaos Legion set alone (Chaos Legion, Riftwatcher, Rewards, and Promo) almost all elements have SNEAK monsters with Mana under 5 (Pelacor Bandit (Water), Iza the Fanged (Earth), Stitch Leech (Life), Vruz (Dragon), Dhampir Infiltrator (Dragon), Uraeus (Neutral)).
RULESET & FORMATION
In addition to Little League, the ruleset for this battle is...
SILENCED SUMMONERS
This ruleset eliminates the abilities (buffs, debuffs, ailments) given by Summoners. So we can only depend on the buffs and debuffs given by monsters. Abilities like Cleanse and Dispel can breathe a little easier because Summoners are not allowed to give abilities to monsters (Dispel and Cleanse cannot remove Buffs, debuffs, and ailments given by Summoners).
My Line-Up
Cards | Ability | Reason |
---|---|---|
- Give a reduction of 1 Attack Point to All Enemies Magic Monster and 1 Health point to All Enemies | Even though it is in the Silenced Summoners Ruleset, we must not be careless in choosing monsters. Thaddius Brood is my choice this time because there is 1 monster that has POISON to slowly reduce the Health points of the opponent's monster in the first position. | |
MARTYR | I relied on Venari Marksrat to fill the first position because it was likely that the opponent would attack the monster in the first or last position (it was unlikely to use SNIPE or OPPORTUNITY in the Little League Ruleset) For the last position, I had prepared another monster. | |
HEAL | Having pretty good STATS, Xenith Monk has the main task as a TANK. I placed him behind Venari Marksrat so that he would receive additional STATS when Venari Marksrat was defeated. | |
PROTECT | Since most of the monsters I picked don't have ARMOR, I brought Ravenhood Warden which has PROTECT to provide additional ARMOR so as not to hit Healt points first when getting attacked by my opponent's Melee and Ranged monsters. | |
LIFE LEECH + POISON | With his LIFE LEECH ability, Venari Bonesmith serves as a backup TANK when several monsters in front of him are defeated by the opponent's monsters (or the back if hit by attacks from many SNEAK monsters). Because at that time it is likely that his Health points have increased a lot. At level 4, he has POISON which provides an opportunity to defeat the opponent's monster more quickly (if successful). | |
SNEAK + POISON | If Venari Bonesmith gives POISON to the opponent's monster in the first position, then Uraeus will give POISON (if successful) to the monster in the last position. The role is quite important because there is a possibility that the monster filling the back position is a monster with a fairly troublesome ability (such as TANK HEAL, REPAIR, CLEANSE). | |
FLYING + SCAVENGER + BACKFIRE | Riftwing fills the last position to prevent the opponent's SNEAK monster from attacking the monster in the position before him. Although it has no Attack power (No Attack monster) Riftwing is equipped with BACKFIRE which will provide an attack when the opponent's monster fails to land an attack on him. |
BATTLE START !!!
On my opponent's side, there are no monsters that have abilities that give buffs or debuffs, while on my side there is only Ravenhood Warden which gives an additional 2 pieces of ARMOR to all my monsters.
Recap for the first round, Venari Marksrat was defeated thanks to attacks from Musa Saline and Angelic Mandarin (Kulu Swimhunter's attack missed), this activated his MARTYR ability so that the nearby monster (Xenith Monk) received an increase in all STATS by 1 point.
Cruel Sethropod gets attacked by Ravenhood Warden amd Venari Bonesmith (unfortunately POISON failed to be cast on Cruel Sethropod)
The opponent's 2 SNEAK monsters have different fates. Pelacor Bandit managed to damage the ARMOR of Riftwing while Uraeus failed to land an attack on Riftwing (he took damage after failing to attack Riftwing, an effect of BACKFIRE).
Cruel Sethropod was defeated by Xenith Monk and Venari Bonesmith. Pelacor Bandit who took his place was hit by an attack from Ravenhood Warden.
Uraeus again failed to land his attack on Riftwing so he received the effects of BACKFIRE.

Review of this battle
When the battle started, I didn't expect that Kulu Swimhunter who had higher SPEED and level failed to land his attack on Venari Marksrat, even though we were not in the REVERSE SPEED ruleset. Uraeus's missed attack on Riftwing twice is still understandable. He is 1 point behind in SPEED and Riftwing has SPEED which increases the chance of avoiding non-FLYING monster attacks.
