When You End Up in Little India, Singapore
Hello traveler...
I have long heard that Little India in Singapore is very large. It then inspired the Jakarta regional government to create Little India in the corner of Jakarta, although it is not as big as Little India in Singapore. Back then, my boss once wanted to send me there, so I thought it must be a beautiful place. But that didn't happen.
Finally last month, I had the opportunity to visit Little India, unplanned. When I looked at my map at the hostel, I saw Little India was very close. So I wanted to stop by there and see what Little India in Singapore was like.
So I will show you how was Little India...
I walked from my hostel, armed with a digital map on my phone, I walked along the orderly and clean streets of Singapore. Cars passing by, can be counted, not many so it does not cause traffic jams. In addition, the pedestrian sidewalks are really comfortable to walk on.
I arrived at Little India in 20 minutes because I had time to go around in circles. It turned out not as close as I imagined. But when you walk in a decent place, walking any distance becomes enjoyable.
I was in Little India, which turned out to be a shopping center. Anything related to Indian culture, you will find there. Since I didn't want anything from Little India, didn't want to shop, so I just walked around.
It was very sunny when I was there, but also hot. So I walked along the aisles of the shops to keep from sweating too much. But that still okay for me looking around Little India.
Being in Little India, of course you will only see ethnic Indians there. If not, they must be tourists. You will hear Bollywood music throughout your journey. Because that's what I felt when I was walking around Little India. I recognized which ethnic Indian dominates this Little India area. It must be South India, because you will find many photos of Rajnikath everywhere. I am not a fan of South Indian Movies, but I can recognize some of the actors.
And look at this market.
When I arrived at this side I was amazed. This is a market that sells souvenirs and Indian prayer equipment. They also sell statues of gods. Because I watch a lot of Bollywood movies, I even recognize the statues of the gods. In addition, there is a lamp stand that is often found in Diwali celebrations. I was very interested because the shape is unique and made of pottery, however, I canceled my desire because it would fill my suitcase.
The only thing that wouldn't make me think twice about buying is the masala tea. Unfortunately I didn't find it for sale on the roadside. Maybe there is some in the restaurant, but I didn't come to hang around in the restaurant, because there are still a few more places I have to visit there.
See you on the next story of my trip in Singapore?
Do you guys have ever been there? How was it? What will you doing there, when you found out that you are like in India.

Hi, Halo, Annyeong! Welcome to my galaxy.
I have so much imagination in my head. Something that I can't achieve as a human and as a girl. So writing is very challenging. Since Junior High School, I have written whatever I want to write. Without skill, I just write what I want to read. Now I have 12th published novels and all of those are romance.

This looks so interesting and I would not mind the walk, as you rightfully said even a long walk when in a nice place can be fun. The market looks so colourful, and I agree, a good masala chai would have been ideal! Thanks for sharing your adventure and the colorful imagery! Keep well.
