The Unique Mosque in The Cipularang's Rest Area

When on a long journey, which must take 3-4 hours, rest areas are a highly anticipated stopover. That morning, when my friends and I were en route to Pengalengan, we stopped at a large rest area. It was one of several very proper rest areas on the Cipularang Toll Road.

When we stopped, it was still 7 am. We stopped to buy some snacks and mineral water for our destination. When I got off I saw a very beautiful and unique mosque.

The mosque was built by one of the Islamic banks in Indonesia, as you can see. I have never seen a similar mosque design. But I will not discuss the details about the mosque. This will talk about how rest areas become one of the places needed by travelers.

I have stopped at rest areas several times, but this rest area is the cleanest. It is located on the km 88 of Cipularang Toll. That's about two hours to Bandung. It can be said that this rest area is well maintained by the local government because rest areas are very crucial. In some places, the rest areas are not maintained and are not attractive. Mini market outlets or souvenir shops are built haphazardly. However (although I can't show all the shops here), I can tell you that the shops in this rest area are built with their own uniqueness.

But the biggest attraction of this rest area is the BSI Bank Syariah Mandiri Mosque. It has an unusual shape, which is a rectangle without a dome like most mosques. Even so, it does not reduce its value as a place of worship. I did not dare to enter this mosque because I was on my period, so I only looked from the outside.

Viewed from the outside, this mosque looks like it has architectural value. In addition, there are several staff on guard at this mosque. It is very useful to guard the mosque from irresponsible visitors who can disturb the comfort of the congregation who are praying.
