The Green Space Around The Arboretum, Jakarta

In Jakarta, there are many hidden gems if you are willing to spend a little time exploring them. Usually, these places are not touched by social media influencers who always prioritize aesthetic value. However, for some people who have a different perspective, a place can be very valuable when they find it.

Like the Arboretum in the Ministry of Forestry and Environment area, Jakarta. At first glance, it is a boring and quiet place so it is not interesting to the public. But if you observe it, you will definitely find how beautiful this area is.

As befits its location, the Arboretum is a botanical garden where many trees of various types are planted for the purposes of research, ornamentation, education, and family recreation.

It was drizzling when I entered the Ministry of Environment and Forestry Area. It was a very large area so you will also find several buildings. This was my first time there even though it was close to my house, I rarely visited this area. So when I went that area, I got a little lost and took a twirl way. But if you ask people around, they will show you the right way.

Because visiting on weekdays, this area will be filled with vehicles from employees and students. Yup, in this area there is also a campus, which I do not know for sure which university campus. However, this place is still fun to visit to chat with your group because they also will not know whether you are a student or a worker there. Like me who came there, no one looked at me with a strange look, so I was so comfortable walking around there.

This is a monument located in the area. Very unique and meaningful. This is an award for forest activists in this country. Although I do not know for sure what the meaning of the symbol is, I am sure it was not formed without meaning. Very nice, isn't it?

• The Forest

As I mentioned, in this area there is a mini forest (if you can call it that). This forest contains trees of several species. Listed on the tree trunk, you can even find out more about the type of tree just by scanning the QR under the tree's nameplate.

This is an example of old tree that will make you amazed.

The trees there are very shady. You will be protected from the sun which burn your skin. Now there are also many pavilions provided in this area so that when it drizzles you will still be protected. This is a very comfortable place to chat with family and friends.

• The Lake

This lake is also one of the attractions of this area. Workers usually spend time on the edge of the lake in the midst of their hectic work. Because on the edge of the lake, there are also many benches. When the rain stopped, I decided to sit there for a while, and it felt comfortable. You can enjoy the gentle breeze on the edge of this lake. It was very pleasant.
