The Architecture of Apartment Grand City Hall, Medan

How was your weekend? Are you planning to spend your weekend alone or with your family? What are you planning to do with your family?

Talking about family, I rarely travel with my family and stay in nice places. Last month, I planned quality time with my family, staying in a nice place, so I rented an apartment at Grand City Hall, Medan. Renting just 1 room doesn't feel like enough. I'm trying to rent an apartment to accommodate one family. The distance between Medan and my house is about 5 hour's drive, so this can be considered a picnic with the family.

Previously I had stayed at Grand City Hall with my friend. The hotel is one of the largest hotels in Medan, which has a unique architecture. European style, considering that Indonesia was once colonized by the Dutch. So I wanted to bet my money on a hotel I had never heard of before. That's why I chose to return to stay at Grand City Hall again.

Grand City Hall Medan has a separate building between the apartments and the hotel. Both have the same lobby, but the buildings face each other. I thought the apartment I booked was in the same building as the hotel room I booked at that time. It turns out different. From the Lobby, I needed to walk some distance to find the elevator that would take me to the apartment I rented.

The corridor of Apartment has two tune, both are awesome and make the vibe looks luxury. Even tough the concept is general, I still like the vibe of this corridor.

• The Living Room

Like other residences, the Grand City Hall apartment that I rented was a one-bedroom residence, where the living room and kitchen did not have a dividing wall. This is a view of the living room. It's quite big and has a classic interior design.

This apartment does not have a striking concept, or you could say, the interior concept is very general. Judging from the color choice of the furniture inside, it doesn't look conceptual. Well, like I said, classic interiors are common interiors.

• Bedroom

This room is half the size of this unit. That's because there is also a toilet in the room. I think it's enough to put one more bed here.

What I like about this unit is the view from the bedroom window. Seeing the Grand City Hall hotel building and also the streets of Medan is the best view.

• BathRoom

This unit has a small bathroom. I think if this is apartment for a family live, it is kinda weird has one bathroom on the bed room. It should be general bathroom, which located near a kitchen. I think, I missed about the bathroom, I should book a unit with bath tub on it.

Overall, the unit in the Grand City Hall apartment is no different from the units in other apartments which have 1 bedroom in it. Especially if you live in Jakarta, there are lots of units like this. However, because this is not Jakarta, finding a European-style building in a city that is not the country's capital is unusual.

The lack about this unit is about the smell. They should make this room smell good and nice, but there is no fragrance in it, so with all the facilities not so much, paying IDR 1,250 K per night seems expensive.

The thing that I loved about this unit is the view and staff friendliness.
