Sindang Reret Restaurant, Cikole Bandung

Talking about Sundanese Tribe, kinda recall the food that I loved the most, is Nasi Liwet. Nasi Liwet is rice dish which's cooked with coconut milk, chicken broth, vegetables, and spice. All things cooked at the same time and when you open your rice cooker, I bet you can get why am I loved Nasi Liwet the most.

But I am here not to talking about food on purpose. I'm gonna talk about how they were preserved their culture in a building.

I loved this spot at the first sight. At the first I arrived and seen this fishpond. Although the water color did not clear, I still could saw the fish on the fishpond. It was goldfish. Also from this spot I see the restaurant would be represented Sundanese culture.

• Fascinated Lobby

Sindang Reret Restaurant has beautiful lobby. They had works of art in the form of a traditional jar which is make waterworks. This side has full of traditional values by combining the cultural heritage and art. I have to praise the exterior design to make Sundanese vibes in this restaurant.

• Plant's Corner

These corner is rare in restaurant area. Generally, all spaces in the restaurant would be used as costumers space but Sindang Reret Restaurant has the plant's corner to always connected to the nature. If I have much time to visited this restaurant, I would be sat down there and looking around the plants. This corner looks homey.

• Costumer Space

As they were large restaurant, Sindang Reret Interior has large costumer space with high ceiling. It was not enough with their large room, this restaurant also has big furniture like long table and high chair. All of tables and chairs made by wooden and given royal touch. Yup, their concept kinda recall us about royal dining room in each tribe.

This spot was the spot that I have seen from outdoor before I and my squad entered the restaurant. It is outdoor corner from costumers.

Can you imagined have a quality time for your family while on the boat? Sindang Reret Restaurant would be give those vibes through these corner. It is great idea and I have never seen this concept before.

There are several artificial wooden boat in the right side of main space. It was big boat on the water. Imagined you are in the boat with your family member or your lovers while playing the traditional song of Sundanese, give us the great vacation vibes. It such a great concept.

Unfortunately, those corner was full so I can not feel the vibe.

• Another Work of Arts

Besides the interior and exterior design, Sindang Reret Restaurant attracted costumers by their sculptures. There are two of sculptures which is represented their tribe. It was a big Goldfish sculptures located the right side of restaurant and the left side there is knife sculpture. Those knife's name is Kujang, a traditional tools for Sundanese tribe. As I know that traditional knife used for weed the grass in the Royal Pajajaran era. Nowadays, Kujang is used for display.

Being in this restaurant which has traditional values is a great experiences cause nowadays how many restaurant has simple design inspired by another culture. This restaurant remind me that Indonesia has many cultures and I am very proud being that part.
