LOH #199 - I Do Prefer This Kind of Work

Hi Ladies... Long time not participate in this community and now I am back after previewing the challenge this week. It's interesting can sharing what we do prefer as a worker whatever it is.

Let's get it!


Based on your own job hunting and work experiences, which do you prefer, working from home as a freelancer, or working outside the home where you get stable monthly pay? Why?

I have both experiences as a freelancer or as an employee who had stable monthly pay and I do prefer Working Outside the home where I get the stable monthly pay and this is my reason...

When I first time came to Jakarta from my hometown, I have no job with monthly payment, I am a freelancer as script writer. It was a common secret that script writer paid long and don't know when the payment will be. With a bill that I have to pay, I can not live stable with that freelance job. Besides, I have one experience again as a freelancer. It was when I just resigned from my main job as journalist in a start up media. I lost my monthly salary so I do whatever I can do like selling books, join several campaigns for surviving in a metropolis. However, I can not manage my time because I am a moody, so I can not stand with flexible time to work. Sometimes I can not handle my mood instead preparing my self when I have a freelancer job. I can be a lazy person and get nothing a day, which is with that I can not pay my monthly bill alone, so I have never want to be a full time freelancer. It was the saddest time that I have ever experiences so I prefer do a work with stable monthly payment.

I Like to be An Employee

I am an employee in one of big Telecommunication Company in my country. I am not a permanent employee but a contract employee. I have been in this fields since february 2020 with long journey because at first I am an outsourcing employee. At that time, even though I am an outsourcing employee I get a stable salary which can give me a good account, bring me traveling to Turkey at 2022. I can buy whatever I want since I am a employee. Even before I turn into hive, I can pay my monthly bill and save many money in my bank account. So that is why I love my job now because it given me to the thing that I have ever have before. Alhamdulillah wa syukurillah...

Long story short, when the Telecommunication Company pull me after long selection, I get more salary. Yup, as we know as employee we had more job desk, but I still okay because I get more. Sometimes, I submitted myself to do overtime because they would pay it. You will believe me that my job can accessing from everywhere. I have ever work in Turkey, Japan, and Vietnam, because the lack of my jobdesk is I can not submit a leave more than 2 days, so I have to work from abroad also. It was also because our jobdesk is 24 hours monitoring and not follow office hours ( 9 to 5 o clock). Even though it was not office hours, I more like this kind of time than office hours. I can free when others work and I work when others free. This is my favorite job.

See when I was in Japan, I work and monitoring my laptop in a train or while waiting a bus in the bus stastion. I have ever duty on the bus when I was in Turkey. It is so challenging and I loved it!

The thing that I loved my job is when my time is cut off, the system will offered the next task to the next shift so we just can focus on our pending. And when you are free, your colleagues will not chat you and asking you for job.

I still remember when I just into this division. When I suddenly diagnosed a disease, my manager set up my schedule in order to my recovery will be quick. She set my schedule to regular, so I have no night shift. For 6 months I have no night shift, what a blessed! I have kind manager and friend so I can focus on my treatment. And you know what, I even can pay my medicine bill alone with my salary, without asked my parents or my brother. I handle it alone. If only not because the monthly payment, I dunno how it would be end.

I see, the successful freelancer even can get more than what I get, but I can not stand as a freelance because I am a moody, undiscipline as a person, so I prefer going outside and get a stable monthly salary. With that monthly salary I can know how many money that I have to spend until the next payday so I can spend my money wisely and think what kind a side job I have to do in that month. Yup, even though I am an employee, I like to have second job, so my bank account will not empty fast hahaha...

Ah, I talk to much! It cause this week theme is interesting!

wow, you were lucky to get a job that can allow you to travel and leave to get recovery. Your boss was a blessing, I guess. I doing freelancing jobs now, but there are moments when I tell myself to just go back working to get stable monthly salary. There isn't assurance in freelancing, and some clients are demanding, making most of your time in front of the desk than resting.
I guess this isn't for me, lol..

I am blessed with this division because they allowed me to travel as long as I could connect with internet everywhere.
