Social Media in My Life: Pros & Cons

Social media has been a part of our daily lives now because that's where we can find work, talk with friends, colleagues, or relatives, we do our businesses, and many more. Today, it plays a big role in our life and since the born of social media where it was still Friendster (that I remember at that time), we still don't know at that time that it was capable of lots of things that we cannot imagine.

Now, there are lots of social medias that are appearing all over the internet just like the Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), or even in Hive. Social media is something that people can communicate with each other from all over the world. Let's just take an example of Hive, we know that hive is a social media but we can earn from this kind of social media by posting our blogs or articles or even commenting to other users.

But what are the cons and pros of social media in my life?

I think there are lots of pros and cons of social media but let's take a loot first for the pros of social media. (This is only my perspective and idea of social media)

For the pros of social media, I can say that these belows that I think are the good side of social media.

• Social media exists so that people can communicate with each other even if someone is far away and they can talk with each other and if they missed someone, they can call or chat with each other in real time. That's one of the best part of having a social media.

• Users can earn from different kinds of social media just like Meta in Facebook, X (twitter), or even in Hive but the earnings are different in each kind of social media.
• We can see, hear, and read some news, events, or something similar to that when using social media and we can express our ideas about this kind of scenario.

Here are lists of cons of having social media in my life

• Most of the people now are using social media from kids to adults and there are some scenes from the videos that are not suitable for kids and I think these kinds of videos are not recommended for the kids to watch because it might influence them when they grow up.

• Bullying to other users, we know that bullying is spreading worldwide and even if it exists in real life but it also exists in social media where they are being humiliated by their friends or even relatives and I think that is not good because it will affect their life that might cause them to have breakdown or making them depress in the process.

• Fake news, I think you know what I mean about this two words. Bringing fake news to the social media gives another ideas to the users to overthink and to believe that is true and most of the time, they will share that to their friends or relatives. Giving fake news is not good in a social media because it might confuse the users about that kind of news in the future.

Social media brings me good news and bad news and we know for a fact that it's not only good news that we can hear about social media but there is also bad news. For good news, I am thankful that social media gives me work that I work now and also in Hive because hive is one of the social media that I can earn when posting an article and the users are also active in commenting in other people's blogs.

These pros and cons that I talked above are the things that I observe in the past few years and I think this also exists up until now and I don't think the cons of social media will be vanish in a few years because that's the nature of people that they also do in their real life.

I think people reflects from their real life actions on what they do in social media but there are people that are opposite on what they do in the social media and in real life like they just want to burst out their feelings in social media but when you meet them in person, they are nothing compared on what they do in social media.
