Investing in High APR Diesel Pools After Hard Fork 26 | Earning DEC + Trading Fees

avatar

Worst thing about Uniswap for me is all the fees associated. The best thing about HIVE DeFi is the lack of fees (for most things). Although I have been involved in HIVE DeFi for a long time and kept up with the innovations since launch, Diesel Pools was not something I had gotten myself into. I constantly found myself getting distracted by other things including CUB and POLYCUB.

Diesel Pools of @splinterlands

One of the reasons I didn't jump into Diesel Pools the moment they launched was the lack of high APR rewards. When there is one of the biggest DAPPs of the world is involved, those APR numbers can be made into something quite lucrative.

APR.png

I was originally interested in VOUCHER:SWAP.HIVE pool as the VOUCHERs were sitting around doing nothing. The APR was high and there was nothing else I could do with VOUCHERS such as staking them. Then I came across DEC which is aiming to be a product backed stablecoin. At the very least I expect DEC to have a low volatility with prices stuck between 60 cents to $1 per 1000 DEC.

In other words, joining DEC:SWAP.HIVE pool would be similar to taking profits while HIVE goes up in value. I have most of my HIVE powered up. Having some extra HIVE being traded like this can be utilized to get the most out of market movements.

Keep @hiveupme in Mind

This is the current best way I know to move HIVE in and out of HIVE-Engine ecosystem. You could be saving thousands of dollars depending on the size of your transactions.

Liquidity Added Through Tribaldex

The process is very intuitive. DeFi does not have to be grandma friendly. Those who are interested to dive this deep into cryptocurrency are bound to be at least moderately tech savvy.

Where Does The APR Come From

These numbers are 3 months old. My source is this article from @splinterlands that explain LP Reward distribution in detail.

LP Rewards 2.png

Keep in mind that trading fees are going to be earned on top of these. Over its lifetime, DEC:SWAP.HIVE pool has earned $44,246 in fees. Last week's earnings were only $1,166.

A Conversation Before The Investment

Comment.png

I told @ganjafarmer that "I'm feeling more inclined to dabble with Diesel Pools as a liquidity provider." Now I have acted upon that. That you for the extra push with your feedback.

When looking at above statistics, it is evident that HIVE-Engine is already a mid sized player in DeFi TVL. Tribaldex is already doing better in TVL than CUB and POLYCUB combined. This is a phenomenal accomplishment to say the least. Future will be bright. Be ready for it!

I have already made 37.710 DEC in Rewards from @splinterlands and another $0.029 worth SWAP.HIVE and DEC from fees. It has been a good experience last few hours.

Thank you for this post. I haven't tried Splinterlands' internal DeFi yet, this post has explained something to me anyway. It may be that in the next few days I too will start with these investments

Best of Luck! I have made 37.710 DEC from LP rewards + $0.029 worth SWAP.HIVE and DEC from fees so far. It's not a bad return at all.

I figured it out by pushing buttons and ended up with 25% of the weed cash diesel pool and then I write this really amazing post that didn't get very much attention I thought and definitely didn't get a lot of rewards however overnight I ended up sliding down to around 11% of the diesel pool before I had to pull out funds.

Now we are rebuilding our position and at about 10% way to what we were at so now is just the time to continue investing while the market is low and people aren't posting a lot there is a lot more votes to go around!

I currently have a very small investment (0.749 SWAP.HIVE, 5.875 SPS) ($0.79 USD) in the SWAP.HIVE:SPS pool. Currently it gives 74.59% APR interest. Probably slowly I will increase my investment in it, but it takes bravery to put (and risk) dollars into it.

You have already dipped your toes in DeFi. Congratulations! The rest is managing risk and growing your portfolio. SWAP.HIVE:SPS has the highest trading volume out of all liquidity pools on HIVE-Engine.

If you use Bee swap it tells you all of the different interest rates and as we slowly grow and invest also look at the ones that have a 1% 2% or more daily bonus and those are really awesome because every day you leave funds in there they throw you some interest!

Thank you for the tip! I was wondering about manual calculation. These fronts ends are bringing a lot of value to the ecosystem. I already have some BTX staked. I wish the best for the project!

I like the DEC/SWAP.HIVE pool also because it gets a ton of trading volume and the APR is high. However, the IL also exists so it's tough to really decide what works out.

Impermanent loss is the most difficult thing to predict or prepare for IMHO. That is why I chose DEC:SWAP.HIVE pool. DEC is almost a stablecoin. It is also the pool with second largest trading volume only beaten by SPS:SWAP.HIVE

Honestly enough with the market going up and down I really don't care just as long as I'm continue maintaining a share and getting paid! If the market goes down oh well my share still stays the same if not grows with people taking funds out....

Those liquidity provider awards are pretty awesome.

As long as you pick assets that are bound to go up over long time or stay stable, this is the best strategy for hands off investing where you can live a life without bothering about what the portfolio isdoing.

This stuff is tempting! Thanks a ton for sharing your experiences. I've got some crypto doing nothing. I've been selling Vouchers. I could try this instead 😎 !LUV ♥️ !PIZZA 🍕

In case we are seeing a bottom to VOCUHER price, this could be a good move.
