Sam Altman and his enthusiasm for Bitcoin! ... and against CBDC | CEO of OpenAI

It is clear that cryptocurrencies play a very important role in decentralized finance, and have in common that transactions and information are visible to all of us. Perhaps this is something very important that we must take into account and that can constitute something that is very well exploited, such as combating corruption. The technology that provides us with a blockchain could be the next step to a much fairer and transparent world.

Está claro que las criptomonedas juegan un papel muy importante en las finanzas descentralizadas, y tienen como característica en común que las transacciones e información es visible por todos y cada uno de nosotros. Tal vez esto sea algo muy importante que debemos tener en cuenta y que puede constituir algo que sea muy bien aprovechado, como por ejemplo combatir la corrupción. La tecnología que nos provee una blockchain podría ser el siguiente paso a un mundo mucho más justo y transparente.

Obviously the privacy of users I think is a right that we must respect, and what transactions exemplify. We can see how many transactions are made and in which blocks they were made, but our funds are safe, especially from the hand (or perhaps claw) of the state. In principle, this technology is, for me, revolutionary.

Obviamente la privacidad de los usuarios creo que es un derecho que debemos respetar, y lo que son las transacciones lo ejemplifican. Podemos ver cuántas transacciones se hacen y en cuáles bloques fue que se hicieron, pero nuestros fondos están a salvo, sobre todo de la mano (o tal vez garra) del estado. En principio, esta tecnología es para mí, revolucionaria.

CBDCs are currently giving a lot to talk about. It seems that countries are seeing the way to include cryptocurrencies in a regulatory system. We know what the end may be for a digital currency, on which major forces will have their total power to decide what to do with them instead of the user in question. Even in my country, which we are already very close to what presidential elections are, a candidate mentioned the inclusion of a system based on a digital currency saying that it will be the solution to our problems, but seeing it from its less positive side, it is counterproductive.

Las CBDC están dando mucho de qué hablar últimamente. Pareciera que los países están viendo la forma de incluir a las criptomonedas en un sistema de regulación. Sabemos cuál puede llegar a ser el fin para una moneda digital, sobre las cuales fuerzas mayores tendrán su total poder de decidir qué hacer con ellas en vez del usuario en cuestión. Incluso en mi país, que ya estamos muy cerca de lo que son las elecciones presidenciales, un candidato mencionó la inclusión de un sistema basado en una moneda digital diciendo que será la solución a nuestros problemas, pero viéndolo desde su lado menos positivo, es contraproducente.

Imaginen estar manejando y un sistema de detección de patentes genera una multa por exceso de velocidad y al ser una moneda digital, se hace un descuento por un valor alto directamente desde nuestros fondos sin previo aviso. En este caso, el gobierno junto al banco central, tendrán el poder.

Bitcoin presents itself as a solution to the problems of corruption and government control. This is how the CEO of OpenAI, Sam Altman, who ranks this number one cryptocurrency as "a super logical and important step in the technological tree", sees it.

He also mentions the fact that they are limited in quantity, so inflation problems could not be produced that many countries suffer with their national currency. For my part, I think there is still a long way to go for it to be a universal currency but it could be considered a secondary currency that is used in everyday life.

Sin ir más lejos, antes de que le hayan dejado de dar soporte a la Binance Card había hecho varias compras obteniendo retornos en BNB, lo cuál era buenísimo por la razón de que me lo simplificaba, pues si quería comprarme un café simplemente me enviaba criptomonedas (Como BUSD que también desaparecerá) en cuestión de unos pocos minutos y uno no tenía que pasar por un sistema P2P que sólo es beneficioso para aprovechar los precios al momento de hacer una venta.
