Who wouldn't want to have a pleasant reading experience without our eyes being affected by the glare of a screen? Amazon has renewed its new family of Kindles, bringing new features to each of them, the most striking being the addition of color. The new Kindles have been completely revamped, updating the basic Kindles, the PaperWhite, and the Scribe. Additionally, we have the icing on the cake; the new Kindle Colorsoft.
Kindle's bet has always been to offer reading products that replicate the feeling of reading on paper. These book readers have become increasingly efficient at simulating this sensation over time, making their technology much more complex. And it makes perfect sense. With each generation, there must be something new that sets it apart from the previous one, but no one expected something like this.
The time has come for Kindle to incorporate an unthinkable feature, at least for now. The Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition promises to revolutionize the way content is read, now completely in color. Not long ago, I wrote about one of reMarkable's tablets in an article, precisely the PaperPro, which had a screen with dynamic pixels and used RGB filters to display color. Although in this case, it was only limited to adding color to text highlights, graphics, and a bit more.
In this case, Kindle Colorsoft does it completely, being able to add color even to book covers, which renews the reader's experience to the highest level. In my opinion, this should have existed a long time ago, but I reconsidered this idea and it wouldn't have been possible, because not everything is as simple as it seems.
The technology of this color screen Kindle is very innovative. It is built on an oxide panel that helps increase performance and speed in page turning. It also incorporates five filters that allow adding color to the screen, which combined with the front light, produces very natural color images. Otherwise, backlighting could have been used, but that would require more energy consumption, affecting battery life. Also, contrast would be involved.
In Kindle tablets, monochrome is what everyone knows best. However, it's not that it's not used in this new Kindle Colorsoft. In fact, when color is not needed, the screen remains monochrome, just like in other Kindle versions, which in my opinion constitutes an energy-saving solution.
The technology used that avoids the need for using monochrome electronic ink and only refreshes the page when necessary, allows for much longer battery life, now up to 8 weeks on a single charge. Of course, this takes into account the usage, the brightness level used, and more.
As features to consider, something we can mention is that this Kindle is water resistant. Something that worries us at some point, right? It also has wireless charging, which fits current times. And as we were saying about its performance, the front light has the particularity of automatically adjusting, which is very positive in my opinion, as depending on the environment we are in, the sensors will detect how much brightness is needed.
The new Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition should be available very soon. Its price is estimated at around $280, although there may be a special package that includes some extras like covers and more that would increase its price. Pre-orders are possible, but these shipments will only start to operate from October 30th.

I guess they still haven't figured out how to include this technology without it consuming drastically. Sometimes it seems simple but it is much more complex!
Innovative features indeed. Amazon just keeps on toping new features to new release. It's a marketing strategy, nevertheless, it a worthing product. Thanks for the update
Yes, there is a lot of marketing in every release and generation change, but at least they are worthwhile changes. Thanks to you!
I guess amazon is never tired for innovation
