and its because my laptop is kind of giving up on the immense load of 3d works I'm throwing at it now a days
i need to get a new one soon

wow, this looks fantastic and i'm yet to fully read it, must have taken a lot modelling the individual stacks!

that's the trick i didn't use different mesh i just used one sheet that i tore up by using edge split and that's one tool i have realized many people haven't realized is a very good tool

hey, sounds really tricky, i now realise after u mentioned the pattern. i didn't know edge split could look so seamless. u must have put a lot of effort controlling the patterns?

yoooooo you have no freaking idea
anytime i beveled it it would all go haywire
it was a nightmare to control
edge split as been really
really helpful since the first time i used blender

yeah its the specs of my laptop though if you have a pc that can carry the subdivision load youre good to go
