SAY HELLO TO VICKY, THE VOLLEYBALLER

I should have been here long before now, but for my friend who had been unavailable to put me through courtesy of her schoolwork. That's by the way, as, here i am!

So, Hello everyone,
My name is Victoria Komolafe. A native from Osun state in the western part of Nigeria. The third child of my parents. I live with my family in the city of Port Harcourt, in Rivers state, Nigeria.
When you think of a beautiful dark skin girl, think of me. I am 6 feet tall, slim, I have dark eyes and full Afro dark hair.

At the moment, I am not a student. I finished my high school education in 2018 and have since been trying to get into college, but I haven't been lucky. It's sad how the educational system in my country is run. The number of years I have been back home hasn't demoralized me to not keep trying. I took the joint admission examination this year, and my result was quite good. I'm positive that the final outcome will be different this time. And, oh! Nursing is my preferred choice course. Since I was little, I loved the white gowns they wore(it's no longer worn as used to be. Scrubs have now replaced it, which is cute, too.

Two years ago, 2021, I worked at a hospital, and there, I learned the basics of the profession. I can, without supervision, take blood samples, administer prescribed injections, check vital signs, and perform a couple of other basic medical procedures.
I absolutely find every aspect of the medical profession fascinating, and it would leave me fulfilled to be a part of these Frontline workers.

I am a very responsible young lady, always eager to learn new things, determined and focused. I never give up until I get something right. I just make sure to stay optimistic and of good cheer.

I really like pet animals like dogs and cats. We used to own some when i was little. Our dog, Snooky, got run by a car and died, some two years. The cat? I recall it coming around with some other male cat, and one day, it never came home again. You can imagine that! It found love....lol.

I am self employed, I have a business of my own. I sell bread, eggs, and noodles in the mornings and evenings. Prior to I, I I worked as a classroom teacher, which was the year after high school. It was an interesting job, but i could no longer continue as the pay did not equate the job load. I had worked as a sales representative at a noodles distributing firm. This second job was too time-consuming and required so much physical strength than i could effectively provide, and it gave no room for me to tend to other areas.

And so, i started my business a year ago. It's not been all smooth, but it's better of. Gives me some little time to care for me and do other choiced activities. Running this business has really been helpful for me and my family.

Like i earlier stated, i took up this business because i needed some more time to try out other things i liked. One of which is athletics. I play volleyball, which is one of the best sports in the world. I'm bragging!I started at the sport since 12 April 2022. The first three months of learning the game were very difficult, but I kept training and was consistent. During the moments of training, I was very emotional because I was shouted on when I did the wrong thing but now there is a difference, because, I can literary control my emotions and try as much as possible to correct myself when i make mistakes.

I got my first award as a best blocker on the 9th of February 2024. I was overcome with emotions that day. I felt so proud of myself. Volleyball gave me so much confidence, and I am blessed with the best coach ever.

The game volleyball has taken me to different states in my country and had me participate in competitions as; the South-South volleyball competition that held in Abia state, the Gagariga volleyball challenge that held in Bayelsa state and some others.
I even have had to play for the Nigerian Navy team in against the Shell oil company team(this was two months ago), both in Rivers state. After that, we had the opportunity to tour a ship on the rig - an actual ship. It was so big and captivating in there. As you see, this game has granted me access to places and networks i may not have gained at the moment.

Towards the end of this month, I'd be travelling to play in the Nigerian volleyball premier league to hold in Abuja. You see what I'm telling, don't you?
I just love the game so much, and I'm confident that there's a future for me in that line.
In fact, volleyball has been pivotal to a couple of many pleasant occurrences in my life.

Alongside those, another dominant factor in my life is music.I love to sing, as well as listen to music. Good music. I realized I had a thing for music when I was ten. My love for music goes beyond just listening. it helps me to look at the brighter side of any situation I find myself. It complements my mood, it uplifts me, and some say that my voice is soothing.When I am stressed, nothing helps me more than singing. Whenever I sing , I do so with all of me, putting everything I can into it. I have a deep passion for music, which has been a very important part of my life. As a result, I belong with the choir in my church, and it gives me so much pleasure to show this other side of me.

Music is the reason my friend @cheeamaka thinks I should be here. She thinks I should stop hoarding the numerous recordings of myself singing and just share what I have with others. She says this is a platform for me. One where I can connect from other music-inclined people and everyone else who shares similar interests as me.

I shouldn't be sharing this, but I looked forward to having her join me sing too. She's good too but she can be a handful. It'll help us both with our anxieties, I think.

Conclusively, I look forward to getting to meet and learn from people of different walks of life and geographical locations. I'm open to varying beliefs and opinions and cultures. After all, it's said that 'variety is the spice of life,' right?

So, Hive, everyone, it's a pleasure to be here and i look forward to making the best of this space, and to grow even as i contribute to the growth of the blockchain too.
