Keys to Long-Term Success for Hive Communities
Over time, we've come to see a community spring up with a lot of prospects and a tendency to excel to one of the top on the hive blockchain, but after some time, we get to see that activities and engagement in such a community reduce until it becomes dormant as though it never existed. There are several things the administrator failed to put in place, and today I'll love to share some helpful points I felt would help the hive community thrive over time.

And without further ado, below are some of the main points:
- Highlights the niche/ideology of the community: The number one point that should be held in high esteem is the fact that the community must have a priority or niche they're focused on. Take, for instance, communities that are focused on gaming, music, DIY, writing, and the like. A community that wants to thrive must also have a focal point. Although since this is a country community, it's understandable that it can't focus on one point, one way to make the community welcoming to all is to find a way to integrate one of these niches into their weekly prompt. That way, everyone will be carried along, and the community prompt will be a safe haven for all to participate.
- Encourage engagement and interaction between users (1): One reason why a community might thrive Is because of a lack of proper engagement between each user and also between moderators and users, and I mean, come to think of it, why will you integrate a prompt for users to write on, and then you don't interact with entries of users to acknowledge and appreciate them for participating? Even if such a user isn't curated, they'll at least know they didn't do anything wrong and that their presence in the community is appreciated.
- Encourage engagement and interaction between users (2): The second phrase of the encouraging engagement subtopic is integrating engagement with other users among the criteria for curation. We've seen several users who'll publish their entires to prompt and walk off the community without engaging with others, so to prompt engagement, the community can create a post promotion channel on Discord where everyone submits their post link and tags other authors they support in the message. That way, the community will boom with interaction, and then anyone who truly engages can be supported.
- Frequently organising Contest/prompt: Frequently, bloggers set up contests and initiatives that attract prospective bloggers to participate in them. There are loads of users on Hive who are unsure of what to write about and are mostly dependent on prompt topics from various communities to get inspired, so consistently setting up such topics and ideas will bring about growth and more audience to the community.
There are loads of other things a community can do to thrive on the hive blockchain, but I'll be bringing this write-up to a close for now. I'll most likely write another blog post to continue where I left off.
Thanks for your time; have a wonderful day ahead.

I can relate to your experience in other communities that didn't acknowledge you and made you feel invisible; I've been in that shoe before and know how it feels.
It's good to know that the film community is different and did acknowledge your presence.
I wish you all the best.
Así es. Te la recomiendo y además pasas un momento agradable escribiendo sobre tu película preferida #peliculasyprogramasdetelevision
Doing all this things consistently is probably the hard part for anyone with a 8-5 job so probably you can add to the list "figure out consistency" based on your daily life agenda
Yea that's true, I guess I'll include that in my continuation, though I was thinking of having a team of moderator's to reduce the workload on just one individual.
The success of every community on Hive depends on activeness and engagement. If a community isn't active, no one would want to come over but one way to make it interactive and engaging is through prompts and contests, making it one of the criteria for curation and people will definitely turn up.
Yea that's absolutely correct, just like I said, those are essential.
The most important thing is understood and our next step will continue to move forward and be consistent
Hopefully in the future the hive platform will grow rapidly
Yes that's another angle.
Gladly sir, are you okay there?
