Tongue Goals πŸ‘…

Have you ever settled to wonder about the feelings of multi-lingual people ?
Being able to spontaneously change from one language to another to effectively communicate with people of different tongues πŸ‘… around you.

You know, being the only person in the room to interpret what people (who speak different languages) are saying to each other, whether perfectly or not.

Imagine you and your peers listening to a song that mixes 2 or 3 languages, but it's only you who gets the whole gist because you are more vast in languages.

Myself, I've always been an admirer of these people.
I try as much as possible to learn as many languages as I can come across.

Meanwhile, we are not limited to just the spoken words of a group of persons, but also the culture.
It's also a plus to be able to give a good history or tradition of a group of people whom you speak their language.

There are many ways in life we come across opportunities to be open to languages.

MIGRATION
Personally, I've been exposed to at least this kind of opportunity, as I have moved through a couple of states here in the country, states that speak several languages, exposing me to them.
From Lagos(Yoruba) to Ogun(Yoruba)to Abuja (Hausa) to Abia, Imo and Anambra( all Igbo) to Akwa Ibom (Ibibio, Efik and Oron), and maybe also the English I speak πŸ˜‚. I'd be so happy to include languages of other African countries and even, with time, other continents.

This method is one of the best and most effective, in that, it allows you to not only hear,πŸ™‰ but you also get to speak, communicate and be corrected with the original speakers of the language. Even though this might come with a little mockery, you are left to just overlook them and learn what you want to learn.

MOVIES AND MUSIC
As mentioned earlier, M & Ms are another means people speak their languages and in turn express their culture.

Personally ive heard from people who calim tbey jse subtitles to learn languages heard in the movies.
I for one don't find this easy as its just you hearing people speaking but not knowing which word is which, but of course, over time one can begin to make guesses.

One could grab this opportunity to connect to these different people by paying attention to their words and also trying as much as possible to find out their interpretations.
This method is ok but not as effective as living amongst the native speakers.
How can you get these interpretations ?
Asking around,
Checking the web (always available)
Trying to use the words to become more familiar. ETC.

To go further,
MOBILE APPLICATIONS
This has also proven to be an effective and easy method of learning languages perfectly.
There are so many of them, but personally I'd recommend Duolingo for its less ads, gradual teaching, statistics, easy navigation, continuous motivation and competition and not to forget payment is not compulsory. I am currently learning French there and I have seen how good it is even almost better than that taught in school.

If for any reason you still don't like this one you can check these alternatives; Memerise Babbel, Mondly Language, Busuu and so on.

Lastly..
ONLINE SEARCH

This method is just one going online to search specifically for the meaning of words online....its just slow and not so effective, i'll still recommend the apps generally as not everyone would have the opportunity of traveling to new places.

Feel free to add your take on this or even your own suggestions on language goals and how feasible it is.

Thanks for sharing,
It's good people realize how lucky they are to come across a means to learn new languages.
It comes with a lot of benefits.
The earlier people realize, the better
