Prelude
Good day to all, hope that you are doing well and battling often in Splinterlands. It is time again for another battle sharing on a match encounter that happened over the span of this week. Today I will be showcasing a match that is surrounding a ruleset that many do not stock up enough cards on and such matches are important for us to capitalize and win them.

Tinderlock, an interesting card from the fire splinter, is a card that is not easy to go against if used properly and can even overturn matches for you. For me, this card has been instrumental for me and doing me alot of good returns and today's match sharing once again showcase how good this card is. So let's take a quick look at this card before we share the match proper.

Card stats as seen below:

While the cost of using this card is high, the last stand ability that this card has is really good and I have seen many times how this card was able to overturn many matches that I go through. So let's going with today's sharing.

Selection Analysis
We have 5 splinters available for selection - Fire, life, earth, death and dragon. This is essentially a range only ruleset where only cards with range attack can be selected from the collection to be part of the match. I do have a decent amount of range attackers in my arsenal, but because of the big mana requirements, I went with Fire Splinter.

So here is my selection of the lineup. Because this is a range only match up, my usual go to summoner Tarsa will not be as useful hence, I've instead went with Skargore because of its ability to enrage and make my cards strike harder. In this match up, I do have a few cards with Close Range being selected, this is to ensure that the cards will not end up at first position and becoming sitting ducks for free attacks. First up is Molten Ash Golem with high health which is meant to soak up some damage while the rest behind do their work. This is followed by 2 other bigger hitters Gargoya Devil and also Lava Launcher, of which both are there to give a good damage to opponent. Subsequent in the lineup is Ash Mirage which purpose is to ensure some range attack debuff with headwinds. After Ash Mirage, it is Countess Sinash which purpose is to pick out weak cards and clear them out quick before they become a real threat. And finally last in the lineup is Tinderlock which I expect to last till the end and initiate its Last Stand ability to gather advantage.

Opponent had the best summoner for such matchup because any card that he place will be able to have close range. What I see is a whole array of strong range attacker which included Ancient Redwood, Hunter Jarlaxx and Swell Spore Beast. These are really strong and on top of that, there is the Goblin Tower which can blast.

From the looks of it and the summoner that allow every card with Close Range, it does seem like my opponent will walk away victorious for this. But will my team be able to put up a fight? Let's find out.

Round by Round Synopsis

Round 1 - Heat is turned up right from the start with loaded of heavy exchange witnessed between the 2 lineup with Quilliun Legionary from my opponent side and Gargoya Devil from my side falling victim to all the crazy strikes.

image.png

Round 2 - While I did have Ash Mirage to suppress the range attacks, it was still very significant and in this turn, I manage to take out Goblin Tower through Countess Sinash but the front bombardment was too high and I lost Molten Ash Golem and Lava Launcher. Now it is going to be a real uphill battle.

Round 3 - Countess Sinash was quick and took out Ancient Redwood while Ash Mirage hang on and sustained through this round. Fewer cards are on the field and things even out a little but I am still disadvantaged due to the fact that I do not have close range.

image.png

Round 4 - In this round, 2 of my other range cards fell to the attacks from my opponent and now it's time to initiate Last Stand on Tinderlock as we try to show what he is made of to my opponent.

Round 5 till end, In the subsequent rounds, Tinderlock with its boosted stats cleared off my opponent cards one by one and on the final round with only 1 health, it took out the last card Gobson bomber and bring home the victory!

Battle Summary
Since Kron Llama went over to wild format, it is not often that we see Last Stand in action. And today, from Tinderlock, we do see how strong it become and even able to overturn a match that I was in almost total disadvantage. Love how the match went and feels really good.

Wrap Up
Thank you for coming by and going through with me in this match which showcase how good Tinderlock is with the last stand ability and this big stats boost indeed helped me overcome a very strong opponent and capture a sweet victory!
