Social Media Challenge - Death Arrows Await You

image.png

Prelude
Good day to all, how are all of you doing? Hope all of you are doing good. I am back again to do another battle sharing with the community on some special and memorable matches that I encounter as I play Splinterlands throughout the week. Today I will be sharing on a match that include 3 of my current favourite death splinter range attackers and also a card that I've just obtained recently, the Arachne Weaver.

Before we go into the sharing proper, the 3 range attackers I like to field nowadays are: Lira, Raa and Ravenhood Warden. 3 very different kind of cards but when put together will serve well.

Lira: One of the fastest attackers with opportunity
Raa: Double strike with scatter and flying for sustainability
Ravenhood Warden: Protection

All with good characteristics and instrumental to make the team have a competitive edge due to their individual abilities.

So without further ado, let's head right on to the match proper.

Ruleset: Born Again, Tis But Scratches
Mana Limit: 50

Selection Analysis
In anycase, the only available splinter that we can choose from is Death and nothing else. So it does limit the choices to maximize the ruleset especially born again works real well with the double strikers like in Earth Splinter Katrelba and also Grund. But thankfully I have one that I can use which is Raa. With 50 mana, my selection will also be skewed towards bigger cards to maximize the mana to be spent.

In terms of my selection, I have chosen Harklaw as my tank. While Cursed Windeku is a good choice for most of the time, I am actually quite worried because by itself, it is a rather easy card to kill with range or magic. Harklaw provides more girth to the lineup to hang in a little longer. The next card in line is Djinn Muirat which is a fantastic card in high mana match up because of the Void Armour to sustain against magic attackers. Next up is Arachne Weaver whom has its debut in this match. I've seen many crazy healing from this card to keep lineup going strong and I would like to see how it fares in this match. The next 3 cards are my favourite 3 range attackers for death because each of them have their use based on their abilities. Ravenhood grant the whole team +2 armour through protection which is good for additional sustainability. Lira the Dark is the fast hitting range attacker that strikes on the smallest possible health card through opportunity. Last to cover the lineup is Raa that has Flying, Double Strike, Scatter and Giant Killer. Great for last position and one of the biggest hitter on the board. Another reason why I used more range attacker is due to death splinter match likey everyone will use Thaddius which will render less effect for magic attackers.

On my opponent's side, it is a much stronger lineup from magic perspective. Opponent had martyr in mind so planned for Marksrat to boost the adjacent big card Djinn Muirat. Following Djinn Muirat is Arachne Weaver which I believe is intended to sustian the team longer. I have my triple range lineup, opponent has its triple magic lineup of which Riftwing got weaponed trained by Skok Duskblight and wrappe up by Usut which does have Blood Lust.

This has become a ready test for 3 range attackers vs 3 magic attackers. It is rather interesting so let's go into the round by round analysis.

Round by Round Synopsis

Round 1 - A crazy round with 36 actions in total. Though no casualty other than the planned double death for Venari Marksrat which boosted opponent's Djinn Muirat significantly. Many exchanges here and there with Harklaw holding up strong.

Round 2 - This round there were 2 casualties. Harklaw couldn't handle that much magic punishment and fell while Raa strikes hard onto Skok and manage to kill Arachne Weaver one time. Let's continue to battle.

Round 3 - Unfortunately, the revived Harklaw was overwhelmed by the magic attackers evern though being healed by Arachne Weaver. One good thing was that the squad manage to take down opponent Djinn Muirat one time while also killing off Arachne Weaver on my opponent's side.

Round 4, Things are moving a little faster now with opponent Djinn Muirat being cleared while my Djinn Muirat also fell one time to Usut allowing it to grow on blood lust. Hopefully a revived Djinn Muirat can hold off as my range attackers clear my opponent's cards.

Round 5, was another awesome round where we opened the round with Lira landing a fatal strike on Skok Duskblight and Djinn Muirat landing another one when Skok revived. Final 2 to go as we march forward.

image.png

Round 6 stared with Lira killing Usut and subsequently Raa killing Riftwing once before Ravenhood killed off the revived Riftwing.

Round 7, the final round as a simple hit from Djinn Muirat, Usut fell and we claim the victory where the 3 range attackers overcome the 3 magic ones.

Battle Summary
I was truly impressed by the 3 range cards, especially Lira making those critical kills and Raa doing a tonne of damage while Ravenhood just sustains the team with armour while doing some good damage as well. My opponent did fielded a very strong team as well just that I manage to outsmart then with my variant and secured the victory.

Wrap Up
It is always fun to see how we can tinker around with our card sequencing and get wins that are out of your expectation. Many do have apprehension on range attackers but somehow when I use this 3 together, they become a formidable force. Do consider having them in your lineup as well as I know how well they always serve me. Arachne Weaver's healing is also seen here though very much a spectator so far. But I do see how good it can be.

See you next time!
