PIZZA 2 Brawl Report - 9 Nov 2024

Greetings to all, Brawl had completed approximately a day ago and I would like to bring to you on the happenings in the brawl, individually how each of the match went and the thoughts behind how I do up my lineup to face my opponent based on the rulesets. With the latest win calculation method for brawls, participation by guild members is the key now to boost the winning chance of brawls by 50%. By jusst filling the brawl frays, half the battle is done instead of giving away free wins to opponents without them even battling. So every match and member participation is very important, which is why we need more active people joining us and fill up those empty frays!

Since the start of Rebellion introduction, I have now changed my Brawl Fray to Fray 4 for my guild which is the fray that uses only Chaos Legion and Rebellion Card. This is good for me because now that I play in modern for my daily battles, competing brawl in this format will be just like playing a normal rank battle. By participating in this particular fray, I will get exposed to more rulesets to refine my playing in daily rank matches. I've been battling and trying to accumulate Glint so that I can more Rebellion Soul Bound cards into my collection which should come in handy for the matches. Let's get right on to the battles.

Brawl 1

	Remarks
Selection:	Maneuvers. This is a low mana match with Maneuvers, in view of this I stack up layers of cards hoping to be able to sustain the front line while striking from secondary position. Key is Alva need to hold as long as she could so that the backline can do their work.
Outcome:	Win! Alva was key in this matchup as she sustained the hits from my opponent's card and allow Refugee Halfing to continue the barrage and secure the win.

	Remarks
Selection:	Opportunity, Shades of Grey and Earthquake. Again we do have this kind of ruleset which is not easy to fully plant in due to the already limited choice in neutral and now we need to take care of the Earthquake aspect. My way of handling is again to add more armour using protect and also use Drybone Raider whom is always so good in such matchup from its crazy double attack double strike capability.
Outcome:	Win! Drybone raider is awesome here, dominating the middle line and together with the other neutral card I have, wreck havoc on opponent's lineup.

	Remarks
Selection:	Briar Patch, Scattershot and Armoured Up. Essentially for this, what we did was to enable double martyr with no melee attacker to avoid being hurt by thorns. However, there is some risk due to high mana of each of the card in the combo.
Outcome:	Win! Thankfully everything went as planned and the revived Oshannus was no easy card to fight against and we won the match with ease.

	Remarks
Selection:	Back to Basic. Single ruleset so let's load it up with sufficient cards that can do well alone, like cards with high basic stats. Typically I would prefer magic over range since magic can hit all the way without being penalized at position 1
Outcome:	Win! What I planned is sufficient with each card doing what they are supposed to and dealing fast damage to my opponent before opponent retaliate.

	Remarks
Selection:	Lost Magic, Noxious Fumes and Knock out. Another loaded run that I have to use quite a number of my melee and range cards together to make it happen and that I also select those that have high health in order to outlast opponent.
Outcome:	Win! It was an easy win to secure with a planned martyr to give us an additional boost.

	Remarks
Selection:	Born Again, Counterspell, Armoured Up. This is a match that is fantastic for the double strikers hence I put up the cards that can do double strike and also I use Quix to hit faster with the speed debuff.
Outcome:	Win! Double striking just clear the backline so much faster than what the enemy can handle. A nice win clocked.

	Remarks
Selection:	Melee Mayhem and Odd Ones Out. What I did was to load up the cards I have hoping to be able to get some outcome from the melee cards I have.
Outcome:	Lose. What did I just face, so strong. Just when I thought I had enough to handle the match, I met a much stronger opponent whom is able to tear apart my lineup with ease.

	Remarks
Selection:	Up close and personal, Super Sneak and What Doesn't Kill You. On this I used Commander Slade to continuously suppress attack from my opponent with a bunch of others in the lineup to strike fast before my opponent can start their assault on me.
Outcome:	Win! Commander Slade and Kulu Mastermind hitting real hard with support from Coastal Sentry and Isgald for further trimming down of health from the strong cards on my opponent side such as Quora and Drybone Barbarian.

Guild Final Tally

I am assigned 8 matches this brawl and managed to win 7 out of 6 of the matches (no fleeing opponent). There is also an additional 1 wins due to lack of participation from other guilds. It was a tough one on one of the matches but we will get better.

The guild ended at position 8 which is way poorer than previous. This is certainly not normal and we definitely have to openly recruit more people to join the guild and participate actively in the brawls so that we can advance accordingly. Until we stabilize, it will be tough for us to get better positions.

Closing
We really need more active brawl players who can help us fill up multiple frays, if you have a shiny collection and able to commit to the brawls, we ask for you to join us and win brawls together as a guild.
