PIZZA 2 Brawl Report - 31 Aug 2024

Greetings to all, we right fresh off a recent brawl for PIZZA 2 that concluded few hours ago and now all the guild members are all reviewing and looking through our own matches in that brawl and getting ready to fill up the frays that we usually do well in. I will be sharing all the matches that I've engaged in the latest brawl. With the newest way wins are calculated, participation is a key now to help win 50% of the brawl, by filling, half the battle is done rather than giving away free wins to opponents. So every match and participation counts and we need more people joining us and fill up those empty frays! And with fewer players playing brawl it is going to be tougher moving forward. We will need more fill up in brawl.

Since the start of Rebellion introduction, I have now changed my Brawl Fray to Fray 4 for my guild which is the fray that uses only Chaos Legion and Rebellion Card. This is good because now that I play in modern, competing brawl in this format will be just like playing a normal rank battle. By participating in this fray, I get exposed to more rulesets to refine my playing in daily rank matches. I am glad I've manage to be in modern fray again, thought I was a little worried because I've yet to obtain any rebellion soul bound cards. Let's start the battles!

Brawl 1

	Remarks
Selection:	What Doesn't Kill You and Unprotected. Matches like this, best is to plant in an Opportunity attacker to smash the opponent weakest card. To make it safer, I also deployed double Martyr combo for this match.
Outcome:	Win! Whew, I faced Lorkus and a very heavy magic lineup from my opponent. Double martyr helped alot while Isgald was instrumental.

	Remarks
Selection:	Earthquake, Stampede and Upclose & Personal. Potentially melee only, I fielded what I could and added a Arkemis to give protect since there will be earthquake.
Outcome:	Lose. Immortalis is one headache summoner to face and in this amtch context, it even shatter all the armour I added on. Endless Ape also manage to get additional boost from cards that fell to further outlast. Nice play by my opponent.

Brawl 3

	Remarks
Selection:	Armoured Up, Taking Sides and Holy Protection. With this, kind of matchup and ruleset, I prepared all the double attackers I have to shave off the divine shield and then to push off the damage.
Outcome:	Win! Everything went as plan, the damage output is too crazy to handle.

Brawl 4

	Remarks
Selection:	Fog of War Heavy Hitter, Wands Out. A debut for my Musa Saline. I pair it up with Oshannus which likely will help hold the front which this card hide behind.
Outcome:	Win! Opponent used Riverboat Captain but no match for Oshannus which easily disposed the whole lineup off. Musa just did what it needed and dish out damage to accelerate the match win.

Brawl 5

	Remarks
Selection:	Shades of Grey, Armoured Up and Fire and Regret. Because of the last ruleset, I cannot use Drybone Raider, so I used Ulundin Overseer to let Arkemis strike from position 2 and also prepare additional fire power in Magi of Chaos and for Scavo Hireling to heal up the lost armour.
Outcome:	Win! Glad to get this win and seeing some new cards that I think are really good. Time to get some Rebellion cards into my collection to fill up those voids.

Guild Final Tally

I am assigned 6 matches this brawl and managed to win all 5 of them but losing 1 of it which included 1 that fled. There is also a bonus 3 wins added to the tally because of poorer participation from other guilds. Immortalis, a card that always makes it hard for me. Hopefully I can find a better way to overcome it.

We moved back up to position 4 this brawl. With a lacking of active participants to fill the fray, things are really going to be tough as we will have difficulty clocking more win. As predicted we landed in the 4-6 range once again. To be part of the top 3, we really need more people taking part and filling up the frays. Let's continue to do our thing and get the best out of what we have. Go PIZZA 2!
