PIZZA 2 Brawl Report - 26 Aug 2024

Greetings to all, we right fresh off a recent brawl for PIZZA 2 that concluded few hours ago and now all the guild members are all reviewing and looking through our own matches in that brawl and getting ready to fill up the frays that we usually do well in. I will be sharing all the matches that I've engaged in the latest brawl. With the newest way wins are calculated, participation is a key now to help win 50% of the brawl, by filling, half the battle is done rather than giving away free wins to opponents. So every match and participation counts and we need more people joining us and fill up those empty frays! And with fewer players playing brawl it is going to be tougher moving forward.

Since the start of Rebellion introduction, I have now changed my Brawl Fray to Fray 4 for my guild which is the fray that uses only Chaos Legion and Rebellion Card. This is good because now that I play in modern, competing brawl in this format will be just like playing a normal rank battle. By participating in this fray, I get exposed to more rulesets to refine my playing in daily rank matches. I am glad I've manage to be in modern fray again, thought I was a little worried because I've yet to obtain any rebellion soul bound cards. Let's start the battles!

Brawl 1

	Remarks
Selection:	Thorns, fire and regret and no neutral. With such a scenario, I opted to use Quora and some accompanying magic cards to setup sufficiently and let Quora do her thing.
Outcome:	Win! This is close because my opponent used Immortalis. And Immortalis is one difficult opponent to overcome due to the void that makes every magic weakened. A surprise good win that didn't come easy.

	Remarks
Selection:	Rise of Common, Melee Mayhem and Ferocity. This match is a little interesting because it is a low mana match. For this I tried to use Katrelba and try to gather some win because of the double strike nature of Katrelba.
Outcome:	Lose. Opponent really outsmarted me in this match. By using what he selected, it effectively killed my front card, grew in power and then because of shield, blocked off the damage from Katrelba and overcome my lineup fully with just 1 card.

	Remarks
Selection:	Even Stevens, Tis But Scratches and Counterspell. Usually I would have used Quora for such a match, but with such a ruleset, using Quora would not be a good idea, hence I went with a full melee squad with armour protection from Arkemis. I had Gund, Katrelba, Betrol and Mad Ogre Anarchist all doing the damage.
Outcome:	Win! With my full melee barrage squad, my opponent was no match for me even when it had Katrelba as well. A stronger melee barrage helped me win the match.

Brawl 4

	Remarks
Selection:	Blood and Sunder, Armoured Up and Born Again. This match has sufficient mana, hence I deployed my favourite earth lineup which consist of Quora and a whole set of cards to heal, taunt and triage to face my opponent.
Outcome:	Win! There is a reason why this lineup is my favourite. It is a very comprehensive lineup that is all rounded from all directions. Sufficient attack, sufficient healing and careful deflection of damage to a specific card and continuously healing it.

Brawl 5

	Remarks
Selection:	Shades of Grey. Finally I can use a card that I recently obtained through Legendary chest, the Drybone Raider which has double strike with 2 attacks. Couple with the strongest neutral cards that I have, I put up a sizeable lineup.
Outcome:	Win! Not bad a debut for the card I just gotten and I am glad I can now sufficiently fight out a neutral match which typically I do not do well in.

Guild Final Tally

I am assigned 5 matches this brawl and managed to win all 4 of them but losing 1 of it. There is also a bonus 3 wins added to the tally because of poorer participation from other guilds. I was truly impressed with the match that I lost because my opponent showed me how simple it can be.

Unfortunately, we dropped again our ranking. With a lacking of active participants to fill the fray, things are really going to be tough as we will have difficulty clocking more win. I think with the amount of activity that we have in the guild and the number of active participants that we have, we will probably be in a yoyo mode moving between rank 4-6. Let's continue to do our thing and get the best out of what we have. Go PIZZA 2!
