PIZZA 2 Brawl Report - 18 Nov 2024

Greetings to all, Brawl had just completed a few hours ago and it's time to look at how we did for the brawl as a guild, individually how each of the match went for me and the thoughts behind how I do up my lineup to face my opponent based on the rulesets. It is important to recognize that participation is the key for brawl success. If you are able to do so, you will be able to do better for overall because by not participating, free wins are given to opponent. So filling up as much as we can is key.

Since the start of Rebellion introduction, I have now changed my Brawl Fray to Fray 4 for my guild which is the fray that uses only Chaos Legion and Rebellion Card. This is good for me because now that I play in modern for my daily battles, competing brawl in this format will be just like playing a normal rank battle. By participating in this particular fray, I will get exposed to more rulesets to refine my playing in daily rank matches. I've been battling and trying to accumulate Glint so that I can more Rebellion Soul Bound cards into my collection which should come in handy for the matches. Let's get right on to the battles.

Brawl 1

	Remarks
Selection:	Aim True, Blood and Sunder, Melee Mayhem. For such a ruleset the rule of the thumb is to spam melee attackers of all kinds and don't mind the missing rate since it will always hit. I fielded all my strongest melee that I can call upon for Water Splinter inclusive of Drybone Raider and Arkemis The Bear.
Outcome:	Lose. Oh my we didn't start well for this brawl. My opponent had a great strategy fielded 2 Gladius with a front tank with thorns and a taunt card to absorb all the attack while the middle lineup take out all my cards.

	Remarks
Selection:	Little League, Taking Sides and Deflection Field. I think Deflection Field should not have too much influence on the outcome so key is to setup the lineup ready for Little League without Neutral cards. As usual for such a match, I will load up as many abilities as I can.
Outcome:	Win! A good combination of abilities both defensive and offensive proved to work well as we breeze through opponent and take down the defences with ease to secure the win. Back on track!

Brawl 3

	Remarks
Selection:	Silenced Summoner, Four's a Crowd and Maneuver. In fear that I will be facing strong Gladius cards, I planted a Venari Spellsmith to dispel any positive buff on my opponent side after putting Quora at the front after a Fungus Flinger.
Outcome:	Win! Mantaroth is really strong, it took me a lot to get it down before access Disintegrator. Maybe can consider getting one and add it to my collection. But kudos to Quora to do all the heavy damage.

Brawl 4

	Remarks
Selection:	Single ruleset Stampede. I do not really have much trample card so I just go with a simple double martyr setup which usually serve me well to face my opponent.
Outcome:	Win! Opponent just gave up and fielded one card, allowing me to claim a simple win after clearing my opponent.

Brawl 5

	Remarks
Selection:	Tis But Scratches, Scattershot and High Five. I attempted to bulldoze my way through with Quora supported by healer and also martyr, hopefully it is enough to pull through.
Outcome:	Lose, what I wished didn't happened but with a taunt and Scavenge, I somehow cannot kill off any cards early to gain blood lust to benefit my Quora's growth and ended up being stuck and killed by their mercy. Tough luck, could have played better.

Guild Final Tally

I am assigned 5 matches this brawl and managed to win 3 out of 5 of the matches (including 0 fleeing opponent). There is also an additional 2 wins due to lack of participation from other guilds. This time, I was truly outsmarted by taunt for 2 times which really makes it difficult for me to gain momentum and losing the fight. Something to learn and ponder upon.

The guild once again landed at position 7 no change fromprevious brawl. The number of frays filled is relatively low and definitely need some form of improvement through recruitment and sleeping members to come alive once again. We are a little shy of the number of wins from 5th and 6th. Let's hope more people join and we do better for the next brawl.

Closing
This consistent low position that we finish each brawl is worrying and might even steer people out of the guild.
