5 Minute Freewrite - Let's Go Home

It's the third month since Jimmy's twin brother Johnny had left home. The house just didn't feel complete with Johnny's laughter at the living room sofa.

Three months ago, Johnny had a big argument with their father because of a decision Johnny made to pursue a degree in design instead of accountancy. Johnny felt that their father did not give him the freedom he deserve and decided to leave home and pursue his dreams. After he left home, their father was very sad and his health started to decline.

Jimmy loved both his twin brother and his father, set out to the hostel that Johnny was residing in. When he met Johnny, he told him, "My dear brother, the family no longer felt like family ever since you left. Daddy's health is not good and he is getting on age."

Johnny replied, "If he had allowed me to do what I wanted, I would have never left home then. I am ok where I am now."

Jimmy then told him, "No matter how things are, there is no better place than home. Mummy has been worrying for you daily, worried if you have enough food each day, enough time to rest and if anyone will take care of you when you are ill." Then further added, "We miss you dear brother, daddy had your interest at heart when he wanted you to study accountancy due to it being more stable than design. Daddy is no longer insisting that you pursue accountancy and he is ok if you wish to continue to pursue what you wanted, so will you come home?"

Johnny teared and hug Jimmy, "Let's go home together, my dear brother, I missed you all too..."
