Christmas? no, it's Festivus time!

"I'm sick and tired", Dylan thought to himself, "I'm sick and tired of spending so much money on Christmas, I mean, is it really necessary?, can't we just get together in a normal way?, I don't know about the others, but I don't intend to spend money unnecessarily this Christmas" he thought determined while he was on his way to his apartment to get ready and then go to his parents' family home.
It was December 23rd and Dylan was ready to go to his parents' house, after much thought he was determined to make a change in the way of celebrating, the economy today is complicated and it is necessary to be more practical. Once at his parents' house, Dylan greeted all his family members who were gathered there to organize the last details of the Christmas dinner that would take place the next day, neither short nor lazy, Dylan began to speak and say his proposal. "Family, let's stop with banalities, Christmas is nice, yes, but it is not necessary to spend so much money on gifts and decorations, with us all being together is enough, let's be more practical, I propose that instead of tomorrow celebrating Christmas, let's celebrate today ... Festivus!" Dylan smiled. "Festivus?, I don't know what that is" replied Sophia (the youngest of the family) with a raised eyebrow, "My God Sophia, educate yourself, look on the internet, watch TV," replied Dylan. The whole family looked at him strangely, to which Dylan proceeded to say "do it for me, I'm leaving the country at the beginning of next year", everyone present looked at each other's faces. "All right, let's celebrate Festivus today, but only because you're leaving and we won't know when we'll see you again," replied his father with a face of resignation and amusement.
Dylan's mother along with his sister and cousin Mark began to prepare dinner, meanwhile his father was looking for some board games with the help of his uncles, Dylan for his part was taking apart the Christmas tree. "What are you doing?" asked one of Dylan's nieces, "I'm disassembling the Christmas tree, it's not necessary to have such extravagant decorations" he answered convinced, "but it's looking like a street lamp pole", his niece's face was of confusion, "Ana, learn to enjoy the simplicity and don't question, appreciate the pole", his niece Ana looked at him as if he was a weirdo and proceeded to leave.
When dinner was ready, everyone sat at the table ready to eat when Dylan stood up and said "Well, you know that in the celebration of Festivus it is necessary to carry out the tradition of saying all the things that have disappointed us about others, that includes all of us and since I proposed this celebration, I'll start" Dylan smiled a big smile, everyone looked at him dismayed and curious.
"I'm going to start with you, dear sister", Sophia rolled her eyes, "because of our work sometimes we have to work together, but it's torture working with you because you are usually late, please be more disciplined", Sophia gave her a murderous look, Dylan continued, "mom, now I'm coming with you, you know I love you, but lately your coffee is getting strange, it doesn't taste good and many times I've had to pretend I like it, but really I've been pouring it in the plant pots, don't hate me", "oh dear, it's certainly not the same as before" answered his mother who was very relaxed, Dylan's sarcastic and harsh comments didn't bother her, the latter decided to continue when his sister interrupted him "you've already talked too much Dylan, I'm coming", "you're like a sour lemon, like a rotten fruit, be thankful that we know that deep down you are a sweet kitten brother" she looked at him vengefully, Dylan only raised his shoulders and laughed, he knew he was a dark creature.
"Well, this is really strange" said Dylan's father between being indignant and wanting to laugh, "I'm hungry, let's proceed to eat, if we all talk we'll never finish". Everyone listened and began to enjoy the simple but tasty dinner, at the end Dylan's niece asked, "Are we going to do all the traditions of the Festivus? I did some research and there are several, I would like to do the fight", "we won't do them all, that would be too much and not all of us are fit to fight, little one" her grandmother answered laughing.
Dylan felt satisfied, he had managed to convince his family to celebrate in a different way, saving a lot of money and simply enjoying their company, even if everything was a little strange, excited, he proceeded to say "thank you very much family, this will be a celebration I will never forget", they all smiled and his mother said " I' m glad you are happy honey, do you want a cup of freshly brewed coffee?" Dylan looked at her with a horrified face and laughed "ok, why not?, nothing like a cup of hot coffee on a december night" he finally said.

Haha it must have felt good to finally have an excuse to tell the mother about her horrible coffee lol.
I'm sure it was liberating for Dylan 🤣
It was sweet of him that he still accepted a coffee at the end🤭

The Festivus seems like a beautiful tradition to blow off steam, I don't care about the money, but I would like to say a few things to my relatives haha! Well done!
I think we all definitely would like to say one thing or two 🤭🤣
Thanks!😊
Hahahah..... Hey everyone,,,give yourself a break and have a coffee. Afterward, you can proceed with your conversation smoothly.....
Happy holidays!
That's right!, the conversation continues, keep up the good spirits hahaha🤭
Happy holidays🎄
Oh, the coffee part. He must have been excited about that one. I felt the strangeness of celebrating festivals on their behalf to be very honest. But in the end, everyone enjoyed it. He didn't have to bring down the Christmas tree though.
I popped in from @dreemport
He was pretty excited 🤣
They were trying to be understanding with the peculiar Dylan, they know he is different and they love him 😳.
Dylan is a savage 🤪 and he took the festivus seriously, one of the characteristics of the celebration is that there is no Christmas tree, just an aluminum pole 🤭.
Thanks for commenting!❤️
It is always a pleasure.
Well, a bad cup of coffee is still coffee eh! So, ....ermm, why not indeed!! 😆
Dylan was trying to be sweet to his mother 🤣🤣, after venting he was feeling optimistic 🤭
Hahahahahahahaha Anda membuat saya tertawa benar-benar, di keluarga saya perayaan ini akan sangat lucu hahahahahaha....
Dear brujita!, I don't understand this comment 😅🤭
Hello! I mean the Festivus celebration would be a theme in my family, I can't imagine everyone telling each other their grievances, it would be something worth seeing and it makes me laugh hehehehehehe, greetings!
