🌹🍃For my part, I am super happy to be back in this beautiful community and because Christmas, my favorite celebration of the year, is about to begin. On this occasion I would like to share with you a nice painting of the avatar that has accompanied me in hive for more than a year. This avatar means a lot to me as it signifies my partner's start in digital illustration and my start in hive.
This is a avatar that my partner made approximately two years ago, because he was starting to illustrate from his phone, to which I told him that I was very excited that he would create an avatar for me and this was the result. When I started on hive, I had no doubt that it was my avatar, well... At first I didn't want to show my face on the platform, but in the long run I left it on my banner when entering my profile and at the end of all my publications.
I've thought a lot about asking you to create a new one for me, but I'm having a hard time letting it go, since it's been with me for quite some time.

🍃 MATERIALES | 🍃 MATERIALS
- Cartulina blanca u opalina.
- Pinturas.
- Pinceles
- Marcador negro.
- Lápiz.
- White or opaline cardboard.
- Paintings.
- Brushes
- Black marker.
- Pencil.
🌹 PROCEDIMIENTO | 🌹 PROCESS
- PASO 1:
🌹Lo primero que hice fue el dibujo en la opalina, como la hoja era muy grande, decidí cortar un cuadrado más pequeño de unos 10 cm x 10 cm aproximadamente. Luego de tener el dibujo listo, pase a seleccionar las pinturas que iba a necesitar.
- STEP 1:
🌹The first thing I did was the drawing on the opaline, as the sheet was very large, I decided to cut a smaller square of approximately 10 cm x 10 cm. After having the drawing ready, I went on to select the paints I would need.
- PASO 2:
🍃Comencé pintando el fondo circular, en la imagen original es un rojo un poco oscuro, así que a la pintura roja le agregué solo una gota de negro para oscurecer y pase un pincel delgado por todo el borde y luego rellene con un pincel más ancho. También, pinté la cara y partes del cuerpo con pintura color piel clara (Estaba un poco nerviosa por utilizar esta pintura, pues pensé que sería muy rosada)
- STEP 2:
🍃I started by painting the circular background, in the original image it is a bit dark red, so to the red paint I added just a drop of black to darken and ran a thin brush all over the edge and then filled in with a wider brush. Also, I painted the face and body parts with light nude paint (I was a little nervous about using this paint, because I thought it would be too pink)
- PASO 3:
🌹Enseguida pase con el cabello y las cejas, como el marrón estaba muy clarito y mi idea era intentar recrear los mismos colores del avatar para así aprender un poco más a mezclar los tonos de pintura y acercarme a los tonos que quiero, le agregué negro, hasta obtener el marrón que estaba buscando.
🌹Mientras el cabello se seca para pintar encima los reflejos, pinté la blusa de amarillo
- STEP 3:
🌹I immediately moved on to the hair and eyebrows, as the brown was very light and my idea was to try to recreate the same colors of the avatar in order to learn a little more about mixing paint tones and getting closer to the tones I want, adding black, until you get the brown you were looking for.
🌹While the hair dries to paint over the highlights, I painted the blouse yellow.
- PASO 4:
🍃Empecé a pintar las hojas y flores, en este caso, pensé que no iba a lograr llegar el tono exacto de la imagen original, pues es como un turquesa, pero fui mezclando de poco, hasta llegar al tono que estaba buscando. También pinté la flor en azul.
🍃Simplemente, para crear el turquesa, agregué mayor cantidad de verde, y le fui agregando de gota en gota el azul, ya que este es el que va a oscurecer y un poco de blanco.
- STEP 4:
🍃I started to paint the leaves and flowers, in this case, I thought that I was not going to be able to achieve the exact tone of the original image, because it is like turquoise, but I mixed little, until I reached the tone I was looking for. I also painted the flower in blue.
🍃Simply, to create the turquoise, I added a greater amount of green, and I added the blue drop by drop, since this is the one that is going to darken, and a little white.
- PASO 5:
🌹Una vez seco el cabello y las cejas, dibujé los reflejos que tenía el avatar en el cabello y los pinté con un tono de marrón más claro y también, con el pincel seco, hice unos trazos a los reflejos con amarillo. Pinté el iris de los ojos con el mismo marrón de los reflejos y los zarcillos en amarillo.
- STEP 5:
🌹Once the hair and eyebrows were dry, I drew the highlights that the avatar had in the hair and painted them with a lighter shade of brown and also, with the dry brush, I made some strokes to the highlights with yellow. I painted the irises of the eyes with the same brown as the highlights and the tendrils in yellow.
- PASO 6:
🍃Al estar seco, con marcador negro pinté la pupila, delineé los ojos y el resto del rostro. Para las mejillas, mezcle el color piel con un toque de rojo y para las sombras, piel con marrón.
🍃Para finalizar, remarqué casi todo el dibujo con marcador negro y como vi el fondo vacío, quise pintar puntos de diferentes tamaños en dorado.
- STEP 6:
🍃When it was dry, with black marker I painted the pupil, outlined the eyes and the rest of the face. For the cheeks, mix skin color with a touch of red and for shadows, skin color with brown.
🍃To finish, I highlighted almost the entire drawing with black marker and as you see in the empty background, I wanted to paint dots of different sizes in gold.
