The New Tactics & Abilities | The Curiousity Mode Set In
With the way rebellion presale is really going, we now have 21 more days to go with around 220k packs left onboard for more users to grab, the hype around this new set is really much and we users are more curious day by day with the way this set might usher in a new beginning to the whole splinterland universe. I still remember when chaos and riftwatchers came in, how players had to rush in to grab those amazing cards who are now really useful especially in modern leagues now, really curious if this will also be the same but pending the time more things will be reveal let take a look at the tactics and abilities that will soon be ushered in.
Tactics
The first tactics that really got my attention is the Dual Element which will be attached to some summoners, the first dual card we had was Zyriel which is the first dual element monster card and it took both life and death element which means you can always have access to it when you choose between life or death element as long as you have the card in your collection, now we will be having dual element summoners which means we can now pair two whole element together in a single battle and select from them, just hearing this, I know it will really be a mad combo especially in top leagues that have levelled cards with different abilities, the major one I'm really praying for is to have a combo for death and water element, since both contain some powerful high stat magic cards and melee monster cards which you can use to set up some good strategy for only magic battle or melee match using the silence or demoralize abilities as counter attack. This part is really enticing and I know many users will be after this tactics too
Not only will this summoners come with just dual element but in a total package, they will come with some abilities that will put you in a position to make your own decision either you will be buffing your monster cards which you bring onboard after submitting your battle or you will debuff your opponent monster cards there by putting him at some disadvantage. This really look good and could be really helpful in some particular battles, after reading futher, buffing your own card after they revealing both teams cards will only apply to just 1 unit of your like, like apply the buff ability to just 1 out of your 6 cards while the debuff will affect all the cards in your opponent board. At first i thought you can also buff all your cards but I think with time when we see which kind of ability that will come with it, we will know more about it, you can also debuff you cards just to give you some chances against some certain ability on your opponent board like the forcefield which only take 1 damage from cards with 5+ attacks, so you can easily debuff your attack to 4, so it can give you more chance against your opponent, there are some abilities I will love to see in this kind of situation.
New Abilities
There are 4 new abilities that will be coming onboard soon with the rebellion set, normally after checking out a monster cards start, they abilities attached to them is what make them unique, even in battles people select some cards just because of the abilities they possess, I remembered there was a battle I had and I need a tank healer in the set I picked, I had to quickly rent albatross from the external market just because at level 6, it comes with a tank heal and it is just 1 mana card. This new abilities are somehow confusing to me and I'm really curious to know how they will really play out since we are yet to see some gameplay samples where they use the particular ability just to know how they will play out. Listing them based on how I might love using them and when to actually use them.
Corrosive Ward: this would have giving the noxious fume kind of vibes if it can also apply to monster cards health and not just the armour only, based on this card ability, whenever a melee cards hit your card and you have this ability in your setup, it will activate itself and attack the attacker but it will melt the attacker armour and reduce it completely to 2 so incase your opponent have repair ability, it wont repair it more than the 2, but something keep bothering me, what if the card have no armour in the first place, will that make the ability useless? On a save side, most melee cards have armour attached to them and players can use it in some ruleset that deals with extra armour.
Flank: When I saw this ability I was really wow, and one thing i wish for it to have this ability on a strong melee monster card that will fit the first position, if you are using a card with the flank ability, it will automatically give the second card the reach ability so it can support it. it make me think about this summoner in the water element, possibilus the wise that give the cards reach and trample ability which is majorly useful in only melee battle, if this attack is in the water element, I will love to pair it with Coastal Sentry because of the double strike and piercing ability.
Lookout is one amazing ability users will surely look up to, this ability will give adjacent allies something like protecting ward which will help them reduce damage received from sneak, opportunity and snipe monster card by 1, this means the battle is about to get even more tough and interesting.
Lastly is the Armored Strike which give the main card that possess this ability additional melee attack from the armour stats, there is high chance this ability will only be attached to melee monster cards since it will be giving additional melee attacks. Something is actually telling me we might be having some cards with double attack start which might be melee with magic or range, and they will also come with this armored strike ability to complement the cards thereby making it a badass, just imagine cards like Quora having this ability and also with bloodlust, it will be more deadly and interesting to use in battle.
Now we are waiting for rebellion pack opening and unveiling of the latest cards and abilities which will be happening soon probably 20-23 days time, then we will know the real deal it will bring in to the whole splinterverse in general.
