The Hunt For Money Choke me | A Failed Investment

Oh back in the days even till now we all have this I will never be broke kind of dream, we all want that soft life but there is no money to fund such dream, at times I will sat down somewhere during school hours thinking about life and imagine how this rich people get money and just spend lavishly yet I don't even have that mind to venture into illegal stuff. I had to start join any whatsapp group that had any finance attachment to it, was on a quest and I was planning to see it through, then at a point a lady talked about some investment we can do at every month, we can get certain interest monthly, it was juicy but I wasn't interested at first but I was a point where I needed to source for my school fees and I only have part of it so I was looking extra way to gather the fund, I don't know how to bet so sporty wasn't the way because I will surely loose it, so I remembered the Investment the lady talked about.

So I messaged her and she said her boyfriend was the one that will run the package, so she linked us up on whatsapp and I had to also link a friend of mine who was also interested in investing but we made a big mistake, we didn't do our real research on what we are investing in, we were naive since that was my first every investment so I didn't know what to research on or which question to ask, I didn't even ask which kind of investment it was or what will he do with the money that will generate return over that period of time, all we know was the cash out day which was 30days and the interest rate which was 50% (silly me) but since I needed the money I was so willingly to give it a try and just hide my fear.

I took my mind off it for a while and this particular guy was updating and reassuring us, our investment is safe blah blah, when it was the D-day to cash out, he told us and also gave us the option to compound the interest and capital for another round, since I still have time, I agreed and gave him a strict warning that I will need it for my school fee, he should made it available after the second run, had I know I would have cash out but the extra cash was just too juicy to neglect. Some week before the second D-day, I reminded him and he said he put me at mind, now the time to cash out came and I messaged him, he didn't replay me like he use to, then after he replied he gave me an excuse that he had issue was a broker, the next day another story, at a point I was fed up so I message my other friend to ask if he got paid already and he said no, that the guy was acting funny.

Got fed up and I remember he had a gf so I message her and boom I got the saddest news ever, she was like he lost our money, you say what!!! was my reply, it was shocking because If I know I was in deep shit. Apparently, the girl explained he was into forex trading and he is good with him but at a point he loss a lot that period due to wrong prediction and he has been drinking and in sober mood, that she is even fed up. My eyes clear at that moment, I don't even know the guy or his location yet invested blindly because of the interest and because I really need money, there was no refund nor update from both of them and I had to just accept my loss because I later find out forex trading isn't a child play, you either win or get burnt but at the end I had to borrow the money just to sort my fees. What I learnt was that, no matter what you wish to invest in be it online or offline, you need to do you own research and know what your investment will be use for, don't just invest blindly, the interest might be juicy but if not wise, you will end up with nothing.
