My Awkward First Year Experience | Slept On The Road

Happy New Year to all hiveans, today mark a new beginning, a start for more incoming achievement but mine didn't really start well. We all pray for to have an amazing new year experience but it seems like my village people don't want to listen, I had a stress filled journey yesterday since one of my friend celebrated his birthday in another town not far from mine so I had to drove down there to celebrate with him but I first went to a nearby town to pick two of friends that will be going with me, then branch in a mall to pick up some drinks for the celebration and along the way I stopped buy at a vulcanizer to get a new tyre for my car because I really need it and the price was way lower than the price in Lagos, got it fixed with just 12000 naira instead of 15-16k, so we went down to the venue to celebrate.

I had to rush back home around 6pm so I can meet up with the crossover service which time was 9pm but first I drop my friend off again before heading to my town. with all this to and fro journey I brought around 15ltr of fuel with the hope that it will be enough for everything so I didn't bother getting more fuel, got to church and the crossover service went really well, we even dance till we got tired. around 1am everything turn violent, knockout everywhere from all this garage boys competing with each other and pointing the firework at each other, it was really risky and dangerous because last year the firework hit my younger brother on his face and his lips got swollen for weeks, he couldn't eat or speak well, so we had to hid in church so the everything will cool down a bit before going home. Now the main part.

Based on my calculation, my plans was to pick my brothers and mom straight home (just 1 trip) and even if the car want to act funny, it should be doing that at home but to my surprised, my younger brother friends were also following them home which change all plans since I had to drop them home first and come back to pick mom (2 trips). I did the first trip successfully and during the second trip the car stopped half way on the road, no fuel and I even forgot it was around 2:30am thinking I will still get fuel as per new year, fuel station should still open 😂, had to flag down a bikeman and he told us we cant get fuel at that odd hour so I just told him to take mom and my brother home, I couldn't go home because some guys were watching us immediately the car stopped and I was somehow scared, different thought were going on in my head, the street aren't smiling, most of this guys have spent their money on knockout and me living the car here at that spot might be dangerous, I might come back in the morning and see some part missing so I just decided to stay and sleep in the car instead.

There were watching me for like 30mins and I just sat there playing games while listening to music some people were playing and after a while they left. Couldn't sleep was just there with my eyes open and with different mid night imaginations going on in my head, what if this and that scenario and I eventually doze off for an hour then went to get fuel early in the morning. It was really an awkward situation and on the 1st of the year when my mate are in the lounge enjoying themselves, I was there locked up in the car thinking about life😂
