The Image Of God. MCGI TOPIC REVIEW.

God created Man in His image - is it literal or is it figurative?

God is a spirit. The Bible tells us that God is a spirit. God is a spirit. He is not flesh and blood like we humans are. So, being in the image of God is not about our physical being. We are not resembling God with two hands or two legs. God is a spirit.

The Lord Jesus Christ came in the body in physical form as a man because he was to function in the realm of humans. He needed to become a man to be able to work among men. He had to be tempted the same way man is tempted. He had to experience the experiences which man is experiencing in order to be able to save man.

We are not in the image of God because of our physical appearance. We are in the image of God by the characters and qualities of God. God is righteous so he created us in righteousness. He created us to be righteous. We are to give righteous judgement; to do things that are righteous.

God is Love. When we have love, we are exhibiting the image of God. So that God created us in His image is not about our physical body, we are created to be righteous; to be holy and to walk in love as God is.
