CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME~ SPENDING QUALITY TIME WITH FAMILY

Hello my wonderful people of @Hive-reachout community, happy new month to you all. This is actually my first post in this community and I feel so happy being a member of this great community.

I got to know about this community by my friend @peckypeace and I am delighted to share my experiences, ideas and thoughts with everyone here.

Going through the community I discovered that the theme for this week is “CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME” It is indeed a heart-warming topic to write on.

“Charity begins at home” means prioritizing and caring for your family, friends and the people around you before reaching out to people afar off. This act does not discourage people from helping those that are further away, it is only a sense of responsibility to the people around you, everything starts from within, if you can not help and be kind to the people around you then it will be hard for you to practice that outside or to the people further away.

Most people feel showing charity at home is all about giving gifts to the people around you, though giving is also an act of charity but it is not all about giving alone, being helpful, kind, supportive to your family is also an act of charity, SPENDING QUALITY TIME is also a vital aspect of this principle, TIME IS A PRECIOUS GIFT but so many people neglect this aspect so much. Spending quality time with the people around you helps to build a strong bond and strengthen relationships with families, friends, neighbours and the people around us. It fosters lasting memories and create a deep sense of belonging.

In the world of today, people value their business, work and other activities with people outside neglecting the people in the people in the family, the scarcely spend quality time with the people around them but prefers spending quality time with clients, customers and every other person further away, I am not trying to say that spending time with our clients or business people is bad, No! what I mean is, we should endeavour to spend quality time with the people around us. Some people prefer spending time on their phones watching their favourite celebrities, watching movies etc and forget the benefit of spending quality time with our families.

I have actually created meaningful relationships with people around me and I have discovered that some people do not need our money or gift all the need is a shoulder to lean on, a person to talk to, time to express how they really feel and what they go through. We all need people to grow, and our time is one of the precious gift that could ever be offered to the people around us.

Growing up as a child, I was the only child of my parent, it was really lonely because my parents barely had enough time for me, they were more concerned with their work and worst of it all I was not allowed to keep friends, you can imagine how lonely it was. They were some times I cried all alone, there was no one to tell my deepest feelings and this made me to promise my siblings that I will always be there for them.

When my mom gave birth to my siblings I was so happy and I have always tried to give them my maximum time always , that is because I do not want them to feel lonely like I did, I make them my best friends and I am glad to have them around me always.

“Charity begins at home” is a reminder that our loved ones deserve our time, care and attention. Charity truly begins at home and it stars with the time we spend with those who matters most.
