I stumbled upon the game, but it seems like it has been a long time since it was launched, is it worth getting into and is it necessary to invest?

You dont have to invest, but you have to learn the game hehe. Cheapest way is to rent cards and try similar strategies than the top leader board of the league you play in :) You will learn what cards you like and make you win the most. Then you can buy those cards if you want to invest. Up to you
