Semana 261 de Splinterlands: Concurso de arte "Astral Entity"

Greetings to all! In this exciting Splinterlands art contest that kicks off in October, I enthusiastically present to you my artwork: a portrait of the death summoning card known as the "Astral Entity". I chose this card because of its captivating cosmic appearance. Below, I will share with you the process behind this fascinating illustration.

Step 1: I started by creating a guide of the character's body. This guide provided me with the physical structure of the character and his pose in relation to the background, setting the basis for the result you can see in the image.

Step 2: Once the guide was completed, I proceeded to sketch the character. I was inspired by the
reference image to ensure that I faithfully captured its characteristics and distinctive look.

Step 3: At this stage, I applied the base color to the character, opting for a dark purple tone. This color would serve as the spatial background on the character, easing the process of applying the other colors.

Step 4: Next, I brought to life the gas clouds and stars inside the character. I used the colors of the reference image and worked with textured brushes, blurring them to achieve that spatial look. Afterwards, I rendered the body, adding extra light effects in the eyes and flames, and finally, an aura of purple and blue colors surrounding the character.

Step 5: As a final touch, I wanted to place the character inside a nebula, so I placed him in the Helix Nebula, also known as the God's Eye Nebula. I detailed the clouds of gas and stars in deep space to achieve an authentic representation.

The end result filled me with satisfaction, as I was able to take full advantage of the textural effects on my brushes to create this stunning piece of cosmic artwork. I hope you enjoy the illustration as much as I enjoyed creating it!
