Local medicine

About last night .

The picture above was taking last night ,and there was actually a reason why i took this picture,

So its been 19years my mum planted that tree ,
I know this because the year she planted the tree was same year my younger brother was born.
My dad was always having issues with removing it because he feels theres no use for it and because it looks dry most times but once it wants to bear leaves it will just come out over night
.

It was just like every other tree but last night, i got to realise that it was medicinal.

Last night someone came to the house and saw the tree and he actually begged my mum to let him cut some,

Though my mum usually say it can be used to cook ,
My dad never agrees or let her use it .
So to us it felt useless
,

/The man claims the leaves of the tree can be used to treat infections and stomach pains when mixed with honey after squeezing out the leaves juice from the tree /.

Even said it is used to make the bitter leave soup and the leaves can be eaten if need be.

Well looking at the tree it doesn't look like the bitter leave tree because his own leaves are way much bigger ,but this very man said it is another breed of bitter leaves,

/And the local name is called (olugbu ofe),
Well he tasted the leave and cut some for himself before living/
.

i was shocked because after all these years no one in my house have ever bothered to use this very tree for anything.

Well at the end this very man had to educate us on the local medicinal value of the tree and; we decided we will try it some day..
