Doctor Kone's Manuscript

The public library in my town had very interesting books. Many of them with historical themes, from the founding of Babylon to apartheid in South Africa. There was a clear generalized spread of the most important events in history.

However, in a more obscure section set apart from the rest, were books forbidden to readers. My curious hand stroked their spines as if they were tender little kittens, and because of my clumsiness, I caused one of them to fall to the floor.

It didn't look as eaten away as the rest, it seemed to be renewed with a very particular brown hardcover decorated with strange golden symbols. It was handwritten with an interesting title that caught my attention: "The Secret Alchemic Magic of Coffee".

As I read the foreword, I realized that it had been translated into several languages by different scribes to this day. This particular copy was written by a man named "Joseph Kone", a South African academic philologist, archaeologist, and curator who was a great lover of coffee and did exhaustive research that took fifteen years to conclude.

In the book, Dr. Kone explained that in Ethiopia, where coffee was first discovered, societies in the province of Kaffa used the properties of coffee beans for magical purposes. From simple things such as raising the concentration and strength of the body to spend dozens of hours awake without being affected at any time by fatigue.

It also relates that they used coffee as a channel to invoke spirits and listen to their predictions. The sorcerers would chew the roasted beans and then spit them out to form words on the ground, with this they warned of things that were about to happen. Coffee was discovered in the 15th century, brought to the Middle East, then to Europe, and later became popular all over the world.

Dr. Kone also explained in his book how to effectively use the secret properties of coffee as these ancient societies did. He placed a series of symbologies and diagrams that were very difficult for me to understand, even though Dr. Kone explained everything in great detail.

I decided to take the book home and continue studying it. The librarian knew me very well and knew that I was not one of those people who took books out of the library, that's why when she saw me with one she was surprised and happy.

"You can keep it as long as you want," she said, I thought it was a very kind gesture on her part and I nodded my thanks.

When I got home, the first thing I did was make myself a cup of coffee and start studying the book. I tried to interpret each page of Dr. Kone's manuscript until a week after arduous reading, I dared to elaborate on one of the formulas described in the book.

I prepared it very carefully because of my clumsiness. It took me hours, but I finally succeeded. I took a sip of that formula and my concentration and sapience rose to an unimaginable point.

With this new ability, I began to prepare the other coffee-based formulas, which elevated my vitality, and physical abilities; even my senses became sharper than those of a feline.

I could feel the electromagnetic waves of the earth flowing beneath my feet. It was a strange sensation, but I quickly got used to it.

I had a very beneficial idea and started brewing more drinks for my family and friends. They all claimed that after drinking my magic coffee, they felt more focused, stronger, and without any hint of stress, anxiety, or tiredness.

I decided to sell my particular coffee product and within a few weeks of doing so it became very popular in the city, then the whole country, and finally the world. I was happy to have helped the world while making a huge profit. Dr. Kone's manuscript changed my life, something I never imagined because of my passion for books.
