Com o fim do bull market em Novembro de 2021, entramos em um momento extremamente delicado onde as quedas nos preços se tornam cada vez mais normais e durante essa fase denominada de bear market muitos projetos crypto estão fadados à desaparecer, perdendo completamente seu valor e qualquer tipo de desenvolvimento.
O Splinterlands não é especial e também vem sofrendo bastante durante esse inverno extremamente prolongado. Já houveram duas reduções na equipe principal conforme publicado recentemente para que o projeto consiga se manter capitalizado e sempre em desenvolvimento. É claro que ninguém gosta de ver seus investimentos desvalorizarem continuamente, porém se a essência ainda fizer sentido e o desenvolvimento continuar, existem chances de quando o mercado virar, o valor comece a ser agregado novamente.
Esse é o atual estado do preço do SPS 
ao longo dos últimos dois anos. É perceptível que estamos em constante desvalorização ao longo do tempo e sem perspectivas de reversão até o momento. Para que haja alguma mudança de destino, duas coisas primordiais precisam acontecer:
- Desenvolvimento e aperfeiçoamento constante do Splinterlands;
- Atração de novos usuários para o Splinterlands;
- Melhoria do cenário econômico.
Os dois primeiros pontos são fatores endógenos, ou seja, que estão internamente ligados e envolvidos neste ambiente, dependendo ativamente das ações e decisões tomadas pela equipe do Splinterlands. Percebemos que existem movimentos de reestruturação sendo realizados para tornar mais eficiente o formato de trabalho que eles executam, visando a sobrevivência durante o momento de mercado em que estamos vivendo, mas além de sobreviver é importante que existam estratégias sendo traçadas para alcançar novos jogadores visando a renovação das forças do Splinterlands.
O último fator é exógeno, não havendo o que fazer além de resistir o máximo de tempo possível, como um sobrevivente que estoca o máximo de comida e procura por abrigo seguro até o inverno passar. O Splinterlands precisa tomar medidas para sobreviver até o próximo Bull Market pois conquistar esse objetivo lhe garantirá muita maturidade e experiência para os próximos desafios que surgirão ao longo dos anos.
A mudança mais recente que impacta positivamente o SPS foi a implementação desse recurso como requisito para receber maiores recompensas nas partidas. Isso incrementa um uso extremamente importante e incentiva que os jogadores façam stake desse token para aumentar suas recompensas, isso reduz a oferta disponível no mercado e contribui para a desaceleração na queda dos preços (mas infelizmente ainda não foi suficiente para fazê-lo subir).
Com certeza mais medidas são necessárias e quem sabe algumas reestruturações econômicas para tornar o SPS menos inflacionário ou com mais mecanismos que incentivem a queima para buscar um maior equilíbrio na balança entre oferta e demanda até que a situação global tenha se estabilizado. Essas com certeza são tarefas extremamente difíceis e eu tenho certeza que a equipe já está fazendo tudo ao seu alcance para alcançar esses objetivos, porém ainda há muito à ser feito, sendo este um desafio extremamente árduo que está sendo trilhado nessa jornada do SPS .

With the end of the bull market in November 2021, we entered an extremely delicate period where price declines are becoming increasingly common. During this phase known as the bear market, many crypto projects are destined to disappear, losing their value and any form of development altogether.
Splinterlands is not exempt from this, and it has also been suffering during this extended winter. There have already been two staff reductions in the main team, as recently announced, to ensure the project can remain capitalized and continue its development. While no one likes to see their investments continuously depreciate, if the core still makes sense and development continues, there are chances that when the market turns, value will start to be added again.
This is the current state of SPS price over the past two years. It's noticeable that we are experiencing constant depreciation over time with no signs of reversal at the moment. For there to be a change in the destiny, two crucial things need to happen:
- Continuous development and improvement of Splinterlands.
- Attraction of new users to Splinterlands.
- Improvement in the economic landscape.
The first two points are endogenous factors, meaning they are internally connected and depend on the actions and decisions made by the Splinterlands team. We can see that there are restructuring efforts underway to make their work format more efficient, aiming for survival during the current market conditions, but beyond survival, it's important to have strategies in place to attract new players and renew Splinterlands' strength.
The last factor is exogenous, and there's nothing to do but resist for as long as possible, like a survivor stocking up on food and seeking safe shelter until the winter passes. Splinterlands needs to take measures to survive until the next Bull Market because achieving this goal will provide them with maturity and experience for the challenges that will arise in the coming years.
The most recent change that positively impacted SPS was the implementation of this token as a requirement to receive higher rewards in games. This increases its crucial utility and encourages players to stake this token to boost their rewards, reducing its availability in the market and contributing to the slowdown in price decline (though unfortunately, it has not been enough to make it rise).
Certainly, more measures are necessary, and perhaps some economic restructuring to make SPS less inflationary or with more mechanisms that incentivize burning to achieve a better balance between supply and demand until the global situation stabilizes. These are undoubtedly extremely difficult tasks, and I am sure the team is doing everything in their power to achieve these goals, but there is still much to be done, making this an extremely challenging journey for SPS .

Splinterlands has taken a huge beating as a result ot the bull market. It's sad to see them lay off so many staffs and look at assets like SPS, constantly declining. By January 2024, I think we can say the bull run might just start.
It's really sad to go through all this but I'm hopeful that things will get better over the next year

Certainly over the long term, the DEC flywheel should represent some positive pressure on SPS as DEC has periods where demand pushes the value over peg and arbitrage is possible. We also need to keep in mind that while we have SPS printing for another few years (more inflation), the company/DAO will have to eventually work out a plan to buy SPS back from the market to restock its coffers for ranked reward support. This will also bring value to SPS once the printing has completed.
