Yesterday I paid for the Premium with HBD and I was thinking, why can't you pay with $LEO wich is the native token of the platform? It would be the logical choice and a new use case for it

Any specific reason why this is not the case?

The token price fluctuates. Suppose you need to pay 100 Leo at the current time for the premium but I am sure you won't want to choose it when the price increases. Change of amount of Leo tokens can be a solution but it will need to be changed in a continuous basis and from that perspective, HBD is the best option.

In every ecosystem the native token it's used to pay for services, it's link if You where telling my that it's better to use USDT instead of #bitcoin o ETH

One reason is that Premium is a Revenue Stream for this platform. Money has to come from outside to flow into the ecosystem. If they allowed $LEO to be used, a lot of people will use their LEO earnings instead of bringing more money into the ecosystem.

Currently, since it needs HBD, you'll have to manually convert your LEO earnings to HBD first, most people won't bother and just use their HBD earnings from HIVE Rewards, and that's what the team wants.

...If it'll make you feel any better, soon (if everything goes smoothly,) you'll be able to pay using $BTC and other Crypto coins instead of just HBD.

HBD it's new money in to the ecosystem? The Main reason for a Long therm rise of the prices for a token it's use cases, people cuold use leodex to swap usdt/usdc > $LEO and that is new money, and again use cases it's the main reason to not sell a token when he pumps

Maybe easier for accounting, they probably wanted it price in USD. Will be able to use other currency soon I think. I think the point was to also design a new feature fast, premium isn't that old and the dev might have priorities like new features. I am sure they have a huge backlog of things they want to do later. The issues has been bought up a few month ago on a live stream. 💰
