Art is ssophisticated concealment of messages
Time evolves bringing changes in many things. With time, everything shapes into something different than its primitive form. Some changes are good while some are bad. Perhaps, change is change.
Arts was not a profession as long ago as it is today. Professionalizing arts is not bad at all. It is indeed good to earn from your talent and your skills because this will not let you die internally.
Previously, art was something that emerged from the inside. It was an innate skill that manifested human perceptions about things in unconventional forms. Words can do wonders if used in the appropriate tone, tune, and style.
Instead of choosing simple words to tell about a particular person, place, or object, people articulated poems, odes, and songs. Some relied on non-verbal presentation as well by picturizing their internal feelings, their most loveable person, and enchanting scenery.
Although it existed earlier also most traces of the progress of arts are found in the Middle Ages. Before that art was mainly about writing books, travel stories, and edifice-building. But in the Middle Ages arts flourished in many forms like poetry, odes, painting, calligraphy, inscription, music, and song.
It was not professional until the Middle Ages. A shepherd might be singing about in his dulcet sound while goading his cattle to enjoy his moments. While a traveller might be enchanted by any picturesque scenery and he might have thought to show it to others by drawing a painting of it.
A lover might have written a poem thinking about his love while a person might be singing it because he had the skills to present it in a better way. Likewise, embroidery, playing flutes and violin and drafting were also just utilizing skills to enjoy one’s own company. Because people used to love doing this.
The first step of professionalizing the arts happened when the artists became the members of courts of kings. King used to honor them by keeping them near him and asking them to utilize their skills to please the king and they were bestowed with rewards.
No matter, whether it was a profession or hobby skill, or talent, you can call it anything but what matters is the real lesson of arts. Is art meaningless? Saying it meaningless will be like saying that there was no idea in mind while arting. The poem was written without any theme, a song was sung without any pain, musical instruments were played without any sentiments, and the painting was sketched and colored without the enchanting beauty of the scenery.
Today, art has acquired a different shape but what is common is a hidden message behind it. It will be meaningless for many or might have different meanings for different people but it does have a concealed meaning. That meaning is the theme and idea before manufacturing it.
Seeing a colorless sketch of a boy, one can say that it is just a picture of a boy while others can find a proper story behind it. A poem that appears a collection of words and sentences, is the name of a feeling. And melodious sounds become more dulcet when it has meaning behind them.

Art is not bad, but these days, they are taking it, not what it was supposed to be. There is a great lesson we can derive from the works of art. There are messages we have to learn when it comes to the arts.
The message in every art is peculiar to people, some might see it, some might not but no art is without a message. Before anyone come sup with something, there is always a goal in his or her heart and that most times becomes the message. Nothing in life is without a message, unless we don't look too closely
