A special day in my family

As January winds down to an end, the end therein is a beautiful one as it marks the birthday of my younger sister who becomes a year older today. Everyone in the family is translating into the adulthood of their own. As the children brew into that stage so do my parent retrace from their youthful age. That's life, one generation must rise while the other slowly fades away. That aside, let's go back to the talk of my sister's birthday and the joy bursting with it.

I have always loved my family and will continue to as long as breathe runs through my lungs. Today is a special day for my sister as she adds another year to her age.

Reflecting back to our early childhood memories. I remember how she would set her eyes on several things she desired and will go to any length so as to have it. Sometimes she possessed those things by crying in the eyes of my dad or mom compelling them to acquire it for her, sometimes she possessed those things by staring into your eyes with so much innocence in her eyes that you wouldn't be able to resist her demand, sometimes she had her way by giving you a charming hug and would plead in your ears that it be hers.... Lol. Childhood was fun, t'was beautiful in the previous decade.

Also, I remember when the teenage days began to set in. Just like we were taught in integrated science in elementary school on the topic "puberty" — that girls grow faster than boys during those periods. Those facts were true as my sister proved them to be so before my eyes. She grew so fast and transcended into the second mom of the house. She started having curvy shapes, cooking, cleaning the house, washing clothes and commanded the home in the absence of my mom.

Every recipe she prepared for breakfast, lunch or probably dinner for the family was always delicious. She relieved my mom in the kitchen and was so good that she even surpassed my mom in the vast array of recipes one can cook.

Enough with these memories... I couldn't have wished for any other sister different from you. You are exceedingly unique.

My wishes for you as you celebrate this day is endless. Continue to triumph as it was from the beginning, May your flower never wither, May your star shine so bright, May all your dreams be fulfilled, remain beautiful.
