Due to continuous soaring of feed price, managing or maintaining a poultryfarm business is becoming more challenging and threat as some people especially small scale poultry farmer like me are calling it a quit.

While the price of feeds keep soaring, it's very important to pay much attention to prevent feed wastage as taking a little step in feed managing can make a big difference.

Here are simple ways to get started:

1. Proper feed storage:

While feed can damage if not properly stored or exposed to unsafe environment, it is very important you make sure to Keep feed safe from exposing them to moisture environment and pests. But instead make sure to store feed in concrete or barrel store and inspect the feed time to time to avoid theft.

2. Avoid Feed Spillage:

Feed Spillage can be wasteful as every grain of feeds count, so to avoid feed Spillage and prevent wasting of feed, make sure to use feeders that best suit your bird's size to prevent overfilling or wastage of feeds. Make sure to opt for right type of feeders that best suit your bird's requirements based on size and age and make sure they are well positioned.

3. Avoid Over And Underfeeding:

Make sure you try your best in tailoring feeds to bird wants and avoid over and underfeeding as both can be serious threat to the bird's growth. Make sure that the right quantities of feeds are provided to keep down left over and pay close attention to their pattern of feeding for signs of illness or stress.

4. Strictly Follow Routine Checkups:

Pay close attention to the activities of the birds in terms of feeding and other activities. Detecting early sign of illness in birds prevent feed wastage. Moreso, it's very important to give the best education to the workers if possible especially if you're running a big poultryfarm or left your farm in others people care. Educate them about feeding efficient practice and emphasis on following feeding schedule.
