New Garden Update: Maize Harvest

Hi Everyone,

It is another beautiful day and it's with great pleasure that I'm welcoming everyone to my blog and I hope you're all doing well and having a great day. It's another to share with you the new update regarding my maize plants as it's been a while since I last blog about it.

I talked about some of the challenges and setbacks that I went through regarding my maize plants in my last post regarding my maize plants, but today I am glad to be here to share with you about how I finally harvest my maize plants.

Though the maize is not that much due to the challenges I went through such as lack of rain downpour in the early stage of plantation, poor soil nutrients, attacked by armyworm and some of them are even destroy by my landlord pig, but nevertheless I was able to scape through those challenges and I am glad that I can at least make this little harvest which actually worth some thousands of naira in the market due to the present cost.

The harvest take place at the early hours of the day with me and my wife. We removed all the maize fruits from it's plant and gather it in a shaded place because the sun came out to earlier.

After we are done with harvesting, we removed the corns from it's shell and while doing that, I discovered that some of the maize are still affected by insect, so we put all the maize on the sack to sundry it and preserve it for whatsoever we want to make it use of. I am glad that the cultivation of my maize plants this year is not a waste because of my little harvest that means so much to me.

Since it's raining here consecutively, my plan is to clear the land after the maize harvest and plants some beans which I will be updating you later. Though I still like to plant some maize at the backyard even if it's little and I will be doing that sooner before the rain drought.
